Computer Help Please!
I'm having trouble with my desktop so I decided to take out my old laptop. I figured that I could just plug in the modem and get an Internet connection but I guess it's not that easy.
Can anyone tell me what I would need to do to hook it up? It hasn't been used in about 2 years.

do you have a network card in the laptop?
if you only have a modem, you would need to plug it directly into the phone line and then use software like AOL for the actual connection.

I believe it has a network card because it's been used for Internet access in the past.

if you have a network card, you can plug it into your router or cable modem - WAY better than dial up
