Connecticut Residents ... Come In!
Hey Guys!! This week my DH got a great offer for work in CT.. We are definitely looking to move close to NYC (Hence we live in SC)...
I'm very excited and feel its a great opportunity for us to be closer to family and friends. My question are the following:
1) What counties do you recommend? Cities?
2) How far is the commute to the city? MTA? Driving?
3) Any other suggestions?
eta: Forgot City!! Woodbury Area (believe its Litchfield County) ITA!!!

Re: Connecticut Residents ... Come In!
I live in Fairfield County. Living in CT has been amazing.
Are you looking to rent or buy? What's your budget? How long/short if a commute time?
Litchfield county is less expensive to live in vs. Fairfield county.
It would be difficult to commute to NYC on a daily basis. By train..you are looking at two hours. By car..hour and half.
Southbury and Middlebury are nice towns near Woodbury.
You should check out the City-Data forum for CT. I found it very helpful when planning my move to CT.

Re: Connecticut Residents ... Come In!
I live in NY (Brewster) but am very close to the CT line (about 10 minutes). I like Danbury a lot, also New Fairfield, Brookfield and New Milford are very nice areas (New Milford is very cute) and I like Bethel too. I know someone who lives in Sherman who like it, though I haven't been there.
ETA- with regards to NYC commute, I ride the train. It's an hour and 20 minutes from Southeast to GC on express trains and a few minutes less from Brewster. A lot of people come to these two stations from Connecticut to ride the train. So total time would be however long it takes to get to the station plus 80-90 minutes.
