Considering adopting a new kitten into our home....
Here's my situation:
1 20 month old daughter 1 soon to be 4 year old son 1 9 year old cat that was mine before I started seeing my DH. She is all about me and wants nothing to do with anyone else in the house.
I am thinking about bringing another kitten into the house and wanted to see if anyone has any ideas of the pros or cons of doing this.
Also want to add that the stairs to our basement does not have a door and the basement is only partially finished. There are lots of nooks and crannies for a little kitten to get into and that is really my main concern right now...in addition to how my 9 year old cat would handle it. I think the kids would love a kitten.
Any thoughts?

Re: Considering adopting a new kitten into our home....
I have a 5 year old, almost 2 year old twins, a 7 year old cat who wants nothing to do with the kids and 2 11 year old greyhounds.
In June, we adopted a kitten!!! It is the best thing ever!!! We told my son that he is his cat so he has taken on some cat chores. The cat just loves him. He's super friendly and a wonderful addition to the house.
The dogs could care less about him.
My older cat tolerates him. They sleep together on the bed during the day. At night, about 10 pm, they fight/play. Never gets too serious and it's weird because it's the same time every night. Will they be best friends? I doubt it but, they are not enemies.
if you find the right kitten, it's a wonderful thing.
As far as going into all the corners of your house, I know what you mean. Just get a collar with a bell. That way, you'll always know where he/she is.
