You were able to get a contract before getting approved for a mortgage??? That doesnt make any sense???
Once a contract is signed, the lawyers and you discuss a closing date I beleive.

Yes...go get your mortgage. Then your attorneys will handle everything else. Good luck!

I was pre-approved, but a mortgage doesn'[t go through unless you have the purchase contracts. Do I also have to find homeowners insurance?

Right you cannot get a mortgage without signed contracts. Start researching homeowners ins policies.

Yes you need to get a homeowner's policy. When you apply for your mortgage they will schedule an appraisal. After doing these things, you have to wait to find out about your mortgage and if your title cleared. Then you can get a closing date.
