Convert oil to gas?
Has anyone converted from Oil to gas in Nassau county? If so how much did it cost to convert? And What is there monthly gas bill compared to the oil bill? Thanks
Edited to add: We are prob getting ahead of our selves, but wee just put in a offer in on a house that uses oil. But it seems like every house we look at has oil. The neighborhood is East Meadow.
Thanks

Re: Convert oil to gas?
First you should see if your block has a gas line. Ask your neighbors if anyone on the block has gas.

Re: Convert oil to gas?
- find if you have access to a gas line (call national grid) - find if you can dig the road (we had to wait 1 year before our township allowed the road to be reopened)
We spent $5k turn key. We did not do one thing. Just give the $$
Included: all the permits (the company took care of everything) digging the road run gas line to house and inside the house removal of old oil boiler (set on ground level not a basement) removal of oil tank (above ground) installation of new gas boiler 2 new thermostats
Don't know how much the bill is. DH pays it!

I am not in Nassau, but in Suffolk I paid $5000 also. The plumber took care of everything for me, but there was gas on my street. You would need to see if there is gas there first. If not, it would be extremely expensive for you.
