Convertible car seat - same or different for each car?
DS is going to have to move to a convertible car seat soon. We bought the First Years true fit that was on sale at Woot Kids the other day. Should we get the same one for our other car or does it matter? IDK if it matters for DS's comfort and sense of security of having the same one or am I just reading too much into this??

I don't think it matters. Lots of people get different seats for different cars (many times a cheaper seat for the less often used car or grandparent's car, etc).
We only have 1 car, but we have a 2nd carseat that we use on vacation and DS is fine in both seats. One is a $300+ seat and the other is a $40 cosco scenera. Lol.

We always had different seats in our two vehicles. We couldn't fit the Britax Boulevards in my truck, so I needed a completely different seat. DC never minded.

We have completely different seats in our cars, DH has the small britax roundabout for her smaller car and I have the big graco myride65 for my jeep. DD doesn't seem to mind.

Different seats for different needs.
Budget, fit, use all factor in heavily. For many, it just isn't feasible to buy a $300+ seat for every vehicle. For some, the harness may be easier to use on one seat and that may go to someone like a grandparent that has hand issues.
How the seat fits in the vehicle is a huge factor too. What fits great in vehicle A may be a lousy fit in vehicle B.
Always buy the seat that fits your budget, your vehicle, your child and is going to be used properly every time.

We had the Britax Marathon in my car (which I LOVED!) and the Evenflo Triumph (this was 5 years ago!) in my FIL's car. He had our 2nd seat.
