CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
my brother is trying to convert his son's crib into a toddler bed and he is facing major false advertsing! When he purchased the so called convertible crib he was not aware that it would require additional pieces to convert. what a waste of $$!!

Re: CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
That was the BIGGEST reason I made sure that I bought a crib that came WITH the rails to make it a toddler bed. In order to use it as a full side bed, I would have to buy the side rails, but not sure we'll plan on doing that.

Yeah - I'm surprised they didn't tell him that when he bought it they made sure to tell us when we were looking that you would need a conversion kit.

Re: CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
Both of ours came with all the pieces for crib and toddler bed. We have to buy the rails to go to the full size bed, but those are standard items that I can get at any bedding store.

Re: CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
When we got our convertible crib at BBB, they didn't mention it to us either until I found out through a friend. I went back to BBB 1 yr later and bought the rails.

Re: CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
I thought they all required the purchase of the conversion kit.

Re: CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
Luckily the guy at Behr's told us about it & we bought the parts when we bought the crib.

Re: CONVERTIBLE CRIBS
I'm sorry he wasn't told...that's not right, but I do see the reason for selling them separately. If a person likes the crib, but has no desire to convert it, they wouldn't want the rails - that would be the real waste, throwing out the rails.
