It's not quite a "cooking class" as in hands-on, but I recently went to the DeGustibus Institute in Macy's at Herald Square. They have famous chefs come in and do demo's and you get to eat what they prepare. It was an awesome experience

I took a class at the Institute of Culinary Education- it's on 23rd St b/w fifth & sixth- so easy to get to from penn station. They have tons of different classes- specific things like knife skills, to baking to classes of different ethnic cuisines... v. cool.

ICE is awesome! We went to a cooking class party that DH's work held for award winners and we had a blast. We learned some easy yet elegant recipes, and they make it really fun too. It's a beautiful kitchen that you work in too.

I agree. ICE is great. I took a couple classes there...some by myself, some with DH, and some with DH and my Brother and SIL. There is such a range of classes to choose from. So fun plus you get to take home tons of leftovers.
