Cooper is suddenly peeing in the house!

Coop has always been so good about going to the door when he needs to go out. But lately, he won't even go to the door, he'll just squat where he is and pee (other times he'll go to the door and go out like usual).

DH thinks its because it's cold out and Cooper doesn't like the cold so he'll just pee inside to avoid going out. I don't think so. I've heard that this is a sign of a UTI. Is that true?

What do we do???

How old is cooper? My dog decided to forget house training at around 4 months and my vet said it was normal....my friend has a dog who is over a year and it won't go #2 outside and goes in the house now..lol doesn' tlike the snow.

Have you left him? anything like that? Could it be spite?

He'll be 5 this year and we haven't left him other than when we're at work.

That is DEFINITELY a sign of a UTI. Take him to the vet to get tested. When they have a UTI they get this sudden HUGE need to pee, and usually pee wherever they are. He may have gotten it because he hates the cold. Holding in your pee can cause a UTI.

My dog did this also out of the blue. The vet checked him and said that is healthy. My father told me that dogs do this when they are board. I started walking my dog more often and on the cold days playing catch in the house. He did stop.
