Cord Blood Banking Question
I'm only starting to do research on this, but I was wondering who is/will/has done cord blood banking.

We've decided to do it. I wavered a little (due to the cost). But I figure if the technology is there, I might as well use it. If, for any terrible reason, there is a time in our child's life when we could use the cord blood and I didn't go for it, I'd feel absolutely horrible. It's pricey but I guess we figure it's worth it.
We might go with Cryo Cell, but mostly just because my husband's boss uses them and is happy, and is giving us a "friends and family" discount code. Plus, I think they are one of the less expensive "big names" in general. Good luck!

We donated to a public bank (free) with baby #1. We plan to donate to a public bank for this baby as well.

I really wanted to do it but DH was VERY against it. None of his physician colleagues who had babies recently banked their cord blood. At my last appointment, my obgyn told me she didn't do it nor did the two pediatricians she delivered recently. I lost the battle and we are not banking our baby's cord blood.

With that aforementioned coupon I think we will save appx. $325 off the processing and testing cost.

Viacord is $2100 and $125 a year -- You can get coupons for anywhere from 100 - 300 though.
