the femara was covered but the ovidrel wasn't, I believe........
The femara even with supposedly being covered was still 105 or something like that!
I'm so used to my bcp, which used to be like 5 bucks or something like that!!

Re: cost of fertility meds
Do you have a deductible? My meds were expensive this month because we hadn't hit our yearly deductible. Next month, should I need them (FINGERS CROSSED ) they will be a lot less.

Ovidrel is like $45. Believe it or not, you got off with very little OOP. I don't even think about it anymore.

I'm actually not sure. I realized this week I need to find out more about my prescription coverage. Thankfully I had this insurance a year and a half and haven't had to really "know" about it until now......

Yea, it's expensive but there's really nothing we can do about it. We just chalked it up to a necessary expense. We want a baby and it is what it is ... but please, it's hard enough to be told u can't conceive naturally, the least they can do is cut us a break with the drugs!

How much Femara did you get? Dr. B wants me to take 2 pills at night for 5 days. It cost me $27.00 at CVS for 10 pills.

Re: cost of fertility meds
yeah for me femara was covered and cost $36 for 10 2.5mg pills. i think they screwed up - it shouldn't be that much $ if it's covered.

Re: cost of fertility meds
I think Kraupner's can be expensive for some things. I got Ovidrel from Walgreens for $80.00 OOP and the Femara only cost me a co-pay of $25. When I got Ovidrel from Kraupners one time it was like $110

Re: cost of fertility meds
DO you have to get your meds through the mail? That just sounds so expensive. I would look into it. Hopefully you wont need them for long

Actually, I never get my meds in the mail! I usually just use Walgreens! They told me at the dr's office that my drugstore probably doesn't supply those meds and suggested I order them through a pharmacy in Brooklyn.

I was told that as well, but I just brought the scripts to CVS and all they had to do was order it and it was ready the next day.

Re: cost of fertility meds
Oh no...freedom pharmacy seriously charged me only $44 for the entire Ovidrell. Gosh, can't believe they charged you that much? Maybe if you can, use Freedom Pharmacy next time. They ship overnight via FedEx. The only thing is someone has to be there to receive it. But, i work from home, so its great for me.
Gosh, you did pay a lot then.
Well, hopefully you wont need to worry about another cycle. Good luck!

Re: cost of fertility meds
That's NOTHING.
Hoping you don't have to go through more interventional treatment....
That's when it gets really
See if you can put $$ into a flex-spending account. You can use that for co-pays, and all medical expenses your insurance doesn't fully cover (which add up).
