Costco membership question
Do they ask for ID for both people getting a card when signing up?
Just wondering if you could get a membership under one address and split the cost with a friend that lives at another address.

Re: Costco membership question
My friend and I split the membership. If they asked us both for ID it did not matter...

Re: Costco membership question
I believe they only needed the name. I'm not 100% sure though cause dh has my 2nd card.
ETA: I signed up online and received my cards in the mail.

Re: Costco membership question
i think each card can have 2 members and it doesnt matter if they are at seperate address's. DH and FIL split a membership. But he is the only one who gets the coupons.

Re: Costco membership question
It depends. When I signed up, they asked both DH and I for ID. At the time we were engaged and not living together. They wouldn't give him a card because his license had a different address!

Re: Costco membership question
I think it depends who you get.. they wouldn't give my DH a card until we came back with a utility bill in his name matching the address I signed up with.
Yet in the past, I had a card with an exBF that lived in another state.. that they let me do!

Re: Costco membership question
Each membership is good for 2 members. We split it with my mom. However, that means only Dh & my mom have a card. So I can't go alone bc I can't use Dh's card (it has his pic on it). Coupons are mailed to my house, but you can always go to customer service and request a coupon book when you go in the store.

you can get away with using someone else's if you pay cash. you just can't use their card with a credit/debit card in a different name. I've done that several times (before I got my own)
