OK, so which one is better, we're members to both and how much are they roughly...also someone mentioned the subs at BJ's which I had no idea they did....how are they and does Costco do this too...just getting lots of food ideas for DD's 1st bday we have the hot food place where we're ordering from so need some cold food suggestions like subs... It's a day of questions today
Thanks!!

Re: costco or bj's cake and subs???
I like BJs cakes because I believe they will still do a filling inside. Costco cakes are just sheet cakes with no filling.
I have never tried their subs so I'm not sure about that.

I like the cakes from both places. I've had sandwiches from Costco. They were on croissants all cut up in 3's I believe. So good!

Costco cakes have fillings. I like the cheesecake filling and the mousses. I like costco cakes better. I also have both memberships. I dont like costco subs at all. Not sure how Bjs subs are. I only like boars head though.

I have no experience with Costco, but I get BJs cakes for almost every event. They are very good.

I didn't know they had fillings...the one time we tried to order from there they said they do not do fillings in their cakes...but this was a few years ago.

We just did BJ's hero for DS's party. Very tasty, but learn from my disaster..
THEY DO NOT cut the hero!

Both places are good for cakes. I think BJ's has a better selection. They have a book near the bakery counter with all different choices. I dont think Costco offers as many choices. If I remember correctly a full sheet cake was around $30 and we had a sesame street theme.
we ordered 4' heros from BJ's last yr and they were really good. just make sure to tell them to cut them.

Re: costco or bj's cake and subs???
We order cakes from BJ's. It's always a success.
You can even bring your own pic to print on the cake. We did for DS' birthday cake.
We had heroes for the 1st time this year for his party. We had ordered the wreath and ended up with a 3 ft long hero. We wanted the wreath because of the size and our fridge. DH talked to the manager and asked him why bother "ordering" if the guy was not going to do it. Supposebly "someone" forgot to order the bread. Yet, nobody called us. Anyway, we got the hero for free. It was good but like someone else said. No precut!

Coscto cakes are awesome, we usually get choc cake and choc filling. We always get our heros from Buttercup Dairy in Port Jeff Sta, they use all Boarshead and have GREAT prices.

Re: costco or bj's cake and subs???
I never had costco cake (that i know of) so i cant compare, but i had a little bday party here this weekend and got a cake from BJs and everyone loved it. It was just a plain white cake with buttercream filling and frosting and only cost $10. You probably can't go wrong with either place (for cakes) from what i've heard!

Re: costco or bj's cake and subs???
I have no experience with the subs..I didnt know either place did them but thats soo good to know.
I have ordered cakes from both..un my opinion - the Costco ones takst better, BUT BJs offeres a lot more designs and stuff to choose from. Costco doesnt have very many pixtures to choose from ..

I ordered my boys' christening cake from BJ's and it was so fresh and delicious. I could not believe how good it was. Just thinking about it makes me want a piece.
