Costs of home ownership?
I know there have been threads before, but i can't find them.
Can you tell me the costs for your house (specifically house--we own a condo now so I have some idea), aside from your mortgage/taxes each month?
We were figuring gas--any estimates? homeowner insurance--any estimates? water electric cable/phone/etc sewer??? garbage??? any estimates?

Re: Costs of home ownership?
Gas, we pay about 20 bucks a month, but that's for cooking and now a dryer, so that might go up a bit.
Oil, we use for heat and hot water, right now we're locked in at 3.79 a gallon, so on average, when we fill up it's about $700 bucks and we just pay it all at once.
Homeowner's insurance I think we pay like 1150 a year, but because we basically live a stone's throw from the water, we have to get flood insurance before FEMA re-zones Suffolk or else it's going to be super expensive, so that will most likely double for us soon.
Water, it was high for our first bill, but on average about 60-90 bucks every 3 months.
We don't pay for sewer or garbage, well, we do for garbage, but that's paid for in our village taxes which are about 2K ontop of our property taxes.
Electric with the ACs running is about 150 a month for about 1500sqft. colonial.
cable/phone/internet is 116 a month

Re: Costs of home ownership?
I live in Ga so ours may be different. These are based on our home which is 4 bedrrom and about 3000 sq feet. It also has 2 central ac units and an inground pool.
Our mortgage payment is 1750 a month
property taxes are 2200 a year.
electric in winter is about 200 but for summer is about 950 a month ( we have 2 cac units. one for up, one for down)
Our gas is about 100 a month. which is only for 2 fireplaces and water heater.
Our homeowners is about 100 a month with usaa and we have every possible thing that could happen covered with that.
We have comcast cable which is about 100 a month
We pay 25 a month for our phone. We use Vonage.
Garbage and other I am not sure about. DH pays the bills.

Gas: $99/mo balanced billing. We have gas heat, stove & dryer.
Elec: $135/mo balanced billing. We dont have central ac. dont know why this is so high (oh wait, I do, bc LIPA is a ripoff)
H/O - $85/mo
Water - SCWA is minimal. maybe $10 a month?
Sewer- dont have
Garbage - included in taxes.
Phone/Cable/Internet- $160
You know where I live, so this should help if you buy in my hood
