I’m trying to predict his response. Will he use Trump’s playbook and state he doesn’t know these women and they are ugly and liars? That it was welcomed behavior or misconstrued flirtation? That he has sex addiction and will go to rehab? Early onset dementia and overly sexual behavior? State he will have his own investigation? Apologize and resign?
He’s set to speak at 1 pm.
No he went to Clinton's playbook.
He needs to go. He has a God complex and if demorcats and republicans agree on this, then you know it must be serious lol.
Right? This thread seemed to be in the most agreed of any in a very long time lol

Truth.
I don't know why anyone would be shocked by any of this after what has come out about prominent men in the last several years.
Sadly not shocked. Won't be shocked when nothing is done about it either.
Exactly as it was a pre-recorded conference today so he didn't even want to do it live.
That’s not unusual though. It’s also not odd to put out press releases denying claims. That’s sort of the standard path, looking at the previous predators who have a multitude of accusers.
Anyone can make accusations. In this case the investigation as a result of the accusations gives pretty solid proof that at BEST he made women uncomfortable with his physical behavior. He also retaliated against those who spoke against him. He went on to defend himself by using his Italian heritage as an excuse and pretty much calling all those women liars, despite the evidence that pointed otherwise.
He is a high level government employee that abused his power multiple times. There are 11 accusers..11 most of them young impressionable women. If nothing is done to bring him down what does that have to say about our state and our politicians?

I just heard he wants to run for governor. As does Leticia James - so... there's that on top of this investigation... Not siding with Cuomo by any means as he's an ass but I don't really trust any politicians.

Not sure how true this is but I heard from a friend that Biden is getting involved and could push him out. Again haven't researched it as I have been busy so haven't watched the news to hear this.

If he doesn't resign he may be impeached. I find it refreshing that the Dems are calling for him to step down and not condoning his behaviors unlike Trump's Republican cronies...

Biden looked a little hesitant today at the press conference when asked if he stands by his prior statement that Cuomo should resign...he did eventually say yes but it wasn't a real convincing answer.
I think Cuomo will be forced to resign. That pompous ass wouldn't do it on his own but I think there is enough of a push between his political colleagues that he may have no choice. I am a little leary of who will take over. The last thing NY needs right now is some lefty governor who will only further tank our state.

I want to know why thousands of women arent out marching in protest right now with their hats on.
1. The marches you are referencing took several weeks to plan and the report came out today.
2. Those marches were about a lot more than sexual harassment from a government official. They were about the fact that most people knew that Trump and his cronies were a direct threat to our citizenry and our institutions. And we were right.
3a. One of the many ways the parties are NOT the same: Most prominent local Dems are calling for his resignation. The Dem PRESIDENT called for his resignation. He might not have said it with enough fervor for some people, but he said it. People can actually trust that Dems will make attempts at accountability (Al Franken!?) Can you imagine Trump's reaction to a Repub governor in a similar spot? He'd probably give him a cabinet position. My point is that with his party not lining up behind him people have a reason to wait and see before taking to the streets.
3b. Look at the people on this and other Cuomo threads. Many people who support Dems and progressives are calling for him to be held accountable. (I am pretty sure I said it myself on an older thread but if not I'll say it here - he has to go.) I haven't read every post but we're managing to agree on that, for the most part. There was radio silence from the same people when we discussed the allegations against Trump and the like. So perhaps you want to know why people aren't in the streets, and now you do. But what I would like to know is why were there crickets then but now all the Trump supporters are jumping in.
Actually you don't have to answer, because I do know. The Republican party and those who caucus/agree with it have proven to be so boundlessly hypocritical that there is no reason to expect any other response. This is their playbook now. They have no soul.

The pink hats were traded in for party hats once we ousted the man who had 26 sexual assault accusers and bragged about committing sexual assault on film.
And what JennP said - we don’t like sexual assault perpetrators or make excuses for them because we have $30 extra in our paychecks. We want them gone.
So we don’t need to march. People are removing Cuomo as we speak and believe the women. As it should be.

TBH I am not always believe all women...anyone can make an accusation that doesn't mean it's true.
I honestly cannot remember if there was a legitimate investigation relating to the allegations against Trump. There was just so much drama around him that I cannot recall what was real or not however if there was a legit investigation and there was enough evidence to substantiate those allegations and no one pushed for him to resign then shame on them.
But in regards to Cuomo and anyone else who has had allegations investigated and evidence substantiated...there absolutely needs to be that same energy and action that there was around the whole #metoo movement and I really haven't seen any extra energy initiating that.
And lets kid ourselves people, both Dems and Republicans are both guilty. They all cover up for each other and do shady shiit! Let's call them ALLLL out..no matter the initials they have after their last name.
