CPSE meeting tomorrow--Help fast.
So tomorrow is my CPSE meeting for my other son. My son just turned 3 in late oct. Cognatively reports are above average.
I sent over reports to the special ed teacher that we had when he was in EI in 2013. His issues are social. He doesn't want to share toys or space. He has hit, kicked the other children. If you direct him to share he often walks away to get something else.
The special ed teacher advised we ask for a seit. Is this a good idea for pre school 2x week or should I ask for social skills class?
Would love input!!!!

Re: CPSE meeting tomorrow--Help fast.
All areas of testing came up within normal limits? What Evals did he have (Psych, Educational, Speech, OT,PT)? If all his score are in the Average Range he might not qualify for anything. You could request Social Skills Counseling/Play Therapy despite scoring within Normal Limits if his social skills and behavior are severely impacting his ability to function, but there is a good chance the district and county Representive wouldn't has cause to provide it. A Special Education Itinerant Teacher would be warranted if there was a cognitive/academic delay. It sounds like social skills and behavior are his only issues.

Re: CPSE meeting tomorrow--Help fast.
Also, what behavioral strategies has his preschool teacher implemented into the classroom to help he succeed? At the CPSE meeting, I would bring up all the stragies the his current teacher has tried but clearly isn't working.
