Crashing: What to get someone who just became pregnant?
A really close friend of mine just found out she has a BFP today! I'm beyond excited for her and want to surprise her with a little, thoughtful gift. I was thinking of buying her what to expect when you're not expecting book, but don't know if that's cheesy..and if not that, what would you have loved to get when you first found out?
Flowers?

what a nice gesture to want to buy her a little something. Flowers are nice. Pregnancy books are also nice. Although what to expect when you're not expecting I have never heard of!

Congrats to her! I think a book or flowers is a great idea. i would stay away from anything baby related as she is probably still nervous.

I would personally hold off on the book and maybe just get her some flowers. I remember when I bought the book for the first time and there was something special about going to that section of the store and bringing that book to the register. Maybe it's just me but I thought that as a fun moment purchasing the book with my dh.

Flowers might just be the right answer, atleast so early on!

Flowers are always nice! If you want to get something else there's also a belly book (I Believe that's the name) where you track your pregnancy...photos of you growing and how you feel etc

Congrats for your friend and how exciting!!!
Flowers are always nice. When DH's best friend told us him and his wife we're expecting I went out and bought a gift card to Motherhood. Figured she would eventually need maternity clothes and she said it ended up being one of her best gifts.

my friend bought me a jar of her favorite mama mio tummy rub lotion and i loved that as a newly-preggo gift. something thoughtful that i wouldnt have bought for myself.

I think anything you give her will be nice. My friend bought me the 'belly book' and i loved it even though i had it already. It was a complete surprise and extremely thoughtful. I could care less what people get me, it's the thought.
I got a bunch of books from my sister and DH for Valentines and thought it was fantastic that i didn't need to go spend 200.00 on books and dive into the section of what books are best.
