crawling before sitting???
DD is on all fours! It seems like she is going to start crawling any day now...
I was just reading up on it in one of the parenting books and it said that babies can't crawl before they sit up, but Megan is not sitting up by herself yet, so am I wrong to think that she's going to start crawling soon? I mean, shes got her belly off the floor and is trying to push herself forward!

I wonder too - Ryan has been doing this for a while now though. We thought he'd be crawling by now but I think it's too early.

DS crawled before sitting. It was more of an Army crawl for a while, but still on the move.

DS did not sit himself until he was 10 months. But he did the army crawl when he was about 9 months. He fully crawled on all 4 right after he learned to sit.

Generally babies learn how to get themselves to sitting before they crawl..(hands and knees or bear crawling)..Getting themselves to sitting and Crawling are considered parallel skills..
But, of course, babies dont always do things by the book...
Caden was army crawling before he could get himself to sitting but when he learned how to sit himself up he started traditional crawling..
