Re: Crazy Hat Day
Same here. My DS camp is having one next week. Not to mention Halloween in July. What the hell do I dress him in that won't make him sweat like a mad man?

Re: Crazy Hat Day
OK, DD's best crazy hat day was homemade, we took craft paper and made a old school birthday hat. Then we took an bunch of close up pics of DD making crazy faces(crossed eyed, sticking her tongue out, hangin upside down etc..) and attatched them all around the hat. the paper we used was all different bright colors. The teachers LOVED it! as did the kids.

In our house, we've done...
Cowboy hat, astronaut hat, cat ears from a halloween costume, Dr. Seuss hat.
Love the idea of making one for next time!

Re: Crazy Hat Day
I would probably do something to go with a children's song or book...the old lady who swallowed a fly (doll dressed as an old lady and bugs/animals around her), the rainbow fish (print out and hang scales off the hat), brown bear, brown bear (with all the animals on the hat), the little engine that could (with trains and tracks) etc. I'd add a printout of the book cover too.

Re: Crazy Hat Day
I won a crazy hat day contest as a kid by wearing a colander on my head with uncooked spaghetti sticking out of the holes. My mom had the best ideas!

Re: Crazy Hat Day
What if you did a Christmas in July hat-opposite of summer-pretty crazy! Or hat based on a favorite movie or game? Like candyland hat-make little gingerbread men with construction paper use a baking pan for a hat and stick men and candy to pan or get a movie popcorn bucket for hat and fill wiht styrofoam peanuts painted yellow and put little sticks in it with pictures of his favorite movies you print from computer and buy at dollar store or stationary store a roll of raffle tickets that look like movie tickets to roll around bucket-you can also make bracelets and necklace with them for added effect. Have fun!
