I recently did this and it’s the best thing I ever did!! I used consolidatedcredit.org
Call and speak to someone but first call your credit card and get the exact balance of each
Here is the number
1 (877) 201-7780

For instance I owed $9,440
They got my cards down to 4% and my payments were $250/month for 4 years
I was able to pay more each month and did it in 3
My credit score is back up to 730
Best thing I ever could have done
Feel free to PM me
Good luck!

Credit card debt consolidation/payoff

Look into reputable companies such as Greenpath and InCharge. They take all your credit cards, negotiate your interest rates and consolidate them all into one monthly payment. You do have to pay a fee to the company (I think something like $40-50 a month) and many times the credit card companies will close your account which will lower your score but due to the lower interest rates you pay your balances faster. Most of these companies require your entire debt be paid off in 5 years or less. They will do a budget for you which is good too.

Alternative would be to contact your credit companies yourself and ask if there are any hardship programs that will reduce or eliminate your interest rate. If your credit is still good you can try transferring balances to 0% credit cards and use the snowball method to pay off your debt (look up Dave Ramsey method of debt payoff)

ETA: DO NOT take out a debt consolidation loan unless you absolutely 1000% do not use your credit cards again. I speak from experience. We took out a debt consolidation loan and then racked up our cc's again and now we are in a worse position. We had a spending problem..currently working on that and using the snowball method to pay off our debt Chat Icon

I did this many years ago and was considering doing it again but I saw a post here about the snowball credit card payback method and am trying that. I plan on calling my credit card companies to ask them to lower my APR then I want to work on paying off the card with the lowest balance. Then I work my way up (while paying the minimum on the higher ones). Helps to stay motivated because you see one card actually lowering. Then when that one is paid off you put that extra money towards the next card.

Re: Credit card debt consolidation/payoff

If you have good credit, make sure the company you choose isn't debt settlement. That will ruin your credit for at least a few years.
