Re: Credit Card Debt - How Much Are You In?
Just as an FYI, paying your credit cards in full every month is less helpful for your credit score than carrying a low balance.
We pay our CC balances down to about $100 every month -- money we could easily pay off. I don't consider that "debt" as it's something we do for a purpose and could pay off at any time.

I can understand that, but why pay 16%+ for a minimal increase, at best?
everyone's got their opwn methods i guess, but i dont like the idea of paying money to spend my money.

None of the interest rates on my CCs are anywhere near that high -- and paying that interest on $100 is really nothing.

I didn't say your credit score would be in the crapper. I was merely pointing out that it can be helpful to your credit score to carry a balance.
Sheesh!

Yes, I agree. It has been what helped my credit score increas since I had some issues years ago. Carrying a balance can help just as much as having a huge limit and no balance can hinder.
My credit is 800 too.

And the increase isn't what I'd consider minimal. Utilization is a pretty important part of your credit score.
I'm sure it varies person to person. DH and I have perfect credit... carrying a balance isn't going to cause it to skyrocket. But, i guess is someone is trying to aggresively correct their credit, those little things help. Still, i've always paid in full and always will.

Sheesh! even at 3.9% which what I have on my Discover card, I am still paying more. I just cannot justify it. no one is arguing that paying interest is bad for your credit.

Re: Credit Card Debt - How Much Are You In?
ZERO!!
After the wedding, we paid off the remainder of DH's credit cards. Since then, we've paid the balance in full every month.
