Re: Crib recall - Bellini furniture
We have a Bellini drop down and I think I'm just going to continue using it until I hear otherwise...We have had it since '05 and I have never had any issues with it ...

Re: Crib recall - Bellini furniture
I have a bellini crib and I had them make it NOT a drop down even though it originally was. I had them bolt it secure with screws when they were building it. I bet you could have them do this for you. I did this because the drop downs were already starting to get bad press

Re: Crib recall - Bellini furniture
The design of the drop side on the bellini cribs is much different from that of the ones recalled. Also most if not all Bellini cribs should have predrilled holes to allow the drop side to become stationary. I am sure if you call the store, they can either provide you with or suggest what type of screws to use.

Re: Crib recall - Bellini furniture
We have a Bellini crib with a drop-down side as well. In fact, I think they are all drop down sides. We used it for over 2 and a half years with DS and will use it again with DS #2 once he is born.
That being said, I did call the Bellini in RVC where we originally purchased the crib due to all of the recent concerns with drop down sides. The woman over the phone told me they are still making the cribs the same way, and will continue to do so (unless of course they are all banned permanently). She went on to tell me that Bellini has never had a recall on any of their cribs.
For a delivery fee of $95, she said they could send someone out to permanently bolt in the drop side. I'm hesitant to do that only because I'm 5'1" and know I will have a VERY difficult time reaching over once DS #2 is older. So not sure what to do as of now.

Re: Crib recall - Bellini furniture
Thank you everyone for your feedback - I am 50/50 to be honest - I called the store and because i purchased it within 1-yr they will secure it free of charge.... so its not a money factor - I just LOVED the drop side feature of my crib - but DD life is SOOO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT then convenience...

Re: Crib recall - Bellini furniture
Very unhappy with the Bellini crib we purchased on 2007. It's falling apart. I wonder if there are any recent recalls.
