Re: Crisscross applesauce..... Seriously?
I agree, it's a cute little way to quickly get the kids to sit the right way. It has nothing to do with being PC, at least to me.

Re: Crisscross applesauce..... Seriously?
I've been hearing that used at DD's school and dance classes.
I love how her dance teacher instantly calms down 11 screeching 3 and 4 year olds and gets them to focus. She says "Criss-Cross Applesauce" and they all plop down, then she says "Catch a butterfly" they all clap their hands above their heads, then she says "Put it in your pocket" they all pretend to do that then put their hands in their laps. She has amazing powers.

I don't know that it's PC. I think it's just another way to say that. I remember it from when I was a kid.

Re: Crisscross applesauce..... Seriously?
Indian Style is no longer allowed to be said in public schools. In fact, any reference to "Indian" ANYTHING in relation to Native Americans is no longer allowed. Its just disrespectful.
I have heard "Chris Cross Spaghetti Sauce", "Cris Cross applesauce" and just "legs crossed"

i'm 25 and I remember that from Kindergarden so I guess it's been around for a while...but I agree it doesn't make sense LOL
I'm 25 too and never heard this lol I honestly don't see how it would be offensive because it's nothing negative or derogatory.

See this is probably what bugs me. There is nothing negative about "Indian Style".
I guess it's just the sign of the times (apparently a long time ago according to some of the posts)

Re: Crisscross applesauce..... Seriously?
I always used to tell my kids to sit like a pretzel. Made way more sense to me and I was being politically correct. LOL
