Re: Cruise options...so pricey with kids

Have you thought about a Disney Cruise out of NY?

The money you save on flights can go toward the cruise itself. They're not ALL expensive. I just looked at a New England coast cruise out of NY for around $800 pp.

What's your budget and your preferred destination?

Thank you for the information. I went on for the 5-night to Canada/New England and for 5 of us it came to $7700. It doesn't let me search for two inside connecting cabins though only the suites. It was also July. What month were you looking at? I could totally swing $800 each. :)

that is crazy - I was looking at Celebrity recently - and their summit ship out of bayonne - to bermuda - for 7 nights - a family view room (sleeps 5 with a huge balcony and separate area for the kids) - not a suite though - wanted for 4 ($1300 per adult and $500 for kids - total was less than $4k (with all taxes) and that was with no discounts at all. Honestly I wouldn't spend $7k for NCL - I would check out some other lines - Most cruiselines don't do Canada/New England until the Fall (sept and oct are their big months).

Have you considered another cruise line? There are other choices.

Is this before or after school begins? If it's after, that would explain why it's less expensive. Everything is jacked up with school is out!

PS, there are surprisingly some AMAZING rates for the Disney Fantasy (awesome looking ship) right now for the July 7th and July 21st sailings. Like $1500 - $2000 off, but you don't get to pick your choice of room, only the category, and you have to pay in full for booking.

The one that starts 9/2 should be over just as school is starting (I don't know the school calendar) is just a few dollars more than this price which is for the 2 later sailings.

School usually starts the 4th or 5th around here, so that probably wouldn't work for the OP since she said she is a teacher.

Right. i was thinking about how in prior years it has started on the 8th. We'll have to see what else there is.

Re: Cruise options...so pricey with kids

I thought we could sneak it in right before school starts, but it looks like Labor Day is early this year.

The Augiust 12th sailing would be quite a bit more at $5715. That's about the same as the July sailings as well.
