Cruising with an infant/toddler question
So we're booking a cruise..DD will be 18 mos..she's still in a crib. When booking the cruise line is telling me we need a room that accomodates 3 ppl she's slipping in a crib...my travel agent is telling me we can do a room for 2 ppl and just request a crib when we get on, but honestly I don't want a problem when we go on. So for those of you that have traveled with a child in a crib did you get a room that accomodated three ppl or just two and get a crib?
Thanks!

Re: Cruising with an infant/toddler question
I have not cruised with DS but I have been on cruises and those cabins are usually very very small. That might be why they suggest a room for 3.

Re: Cruising with an infant/toddler question
We traveled on Carnival. DH and I had a room for 2 (w balcony... a must if your DC naps, that way you can sit outside while they nap inside) and we asked them for a crib for DD. We fit just fine all 3 of us. DD was 2 at the time.
The crib was a little smaller than a PNP and when we weren't using it we just put it on top of the couch in the room so we had floor space.

ITA... the cabins could be tiny. You may want a little extra room. There may not even be a place for you to walk if there's a crib in the room

Re: Cruising with an infant/toddler question
I think it depends on the cruiseline.
For us, we're taking a cruise next summer (DS will be 2.5 years old). He won't be in a crib, so we'll need a 3 ppl room w/balcony. What we're being told is there is a double bed and then a couch that converts (where DS will sleep).

Re: Cruising with an infant/toddler question
You can request a crib when you book. We cruised when DS was 8 months old, the trip was booked when I was 6 months pregnant and our TA requested the crib then
ETA-I agree with chelle that you don't really need the extra room, we had a 2 person room with just a window and had A LOT OF STUFF and it was just fine. How much time do you spend in the room anyway

See ITA too, plus the room are the same size!!!!!!!! It's just what they deem that can accomodate 3 ppl I think due to rules they need to obide by...We're going with 5 adults and DD so I'm wondering if I can just book it as 2 adults in each room and then one adult in one room and DD in a crib, and just have DH sneak in with me, they'd have no clue who is really sleeping there...
