Crushed **Update at bottom**
I am so incredibly lucky to have my DD, I know that. But it still hurts to know you have been TTC #2 for 1 1/2 years and find out today that you have maxed out your infertility benefits.
I know that a lot of you ladies don't have IVF benefits so I really should not be saying a word because I have been fortunate to not have to pay out of pocket.
I am just crushed and heartbroken and feel like a failure. I'm the one with the IF issues and I'm the one that cannot give my DH another child and my DD a sibling.
Ugghhhhh.....I have been rolling with the punches for the last year and a half and today everything just came crumbling down.
We don't have the money to go out of pocket and I just got us out of CC debt and really don't want to put us back into CC debt to fund a round of IVF.
It just sucks. Thanks for letting me vent when I know a lot of you are going through things much worse than me and my DH.

You didn't need help conceiving dd. just bc the Ivfs haven't worked doesn't mean you still won't get pregnant.
There's also micro Ivf which is half the cost of a full Ivf.

Thank you. My Dr told me he will reduce the cost of the IVF cycle which is wonderful and said he would cut that cost in half if I did another FET instead of the IVF.
I just feel like my head is going to explode. I am going to take the weekend to think about it.

Re: Crushed
It's not for everyone, but depending on your situation, you could also ask your RE about Mini IVF.... My husband's insurance doesn't cover infertility treatment and we are hopefully starting a Mini IVF cycle next month @ LI IVF. $3900 includes the monitoring, ultrasounds, retrieval, embryology, transfer... $500 for the anesthesia.... $2000 if you use ICSI. For us, the cost will be $6400 (slightly less than half the cost of regular IVF we were quoted at NS LIJ) plus the medications. I don't know the cost of those yet, but the minimal stimulation uses less meds and so those are also less expensive. The protocol the doctor described to me was 100mg clomid for 5 days and 75 iu Bravelle for 5 days.
I've asked a few times on the boards, but it doesn't seem as if too many people have tried the mini IVF, so when I start it, I am going to catalog my experiences on the boards for anyone that is interested.

I think many dont use the mini IVF because many wont qualify. If Dr gave you med plan already & you will only need about 75 of bravelle, this means he perdicts you will respond VERY WELL. You probably have a high follicile count. Some ladies take 200-300 of follisitim or Gonel-F just to produce more. Sounds like this will be a Great plan for you!!!!

Honestly, I have no idea how I'll respond, and the frustrating thing is that 2 REs have said the whole "we won't know until after we do the first IVF" about response to meds, embryo quality, etc.... Since we are OOP, I did a lot of research on the Mini IVF and for women with tubal issues, embryo quality issues, implantation issues and of course, male factor, it had a very similar success rate to regular IVF. Since it almost feels like the doctors are telling me they won't know how well it will work until we try it, for me, I'm willing to try it once and cross fingers and hope it works! And if I don't respond well to the low meds, it can be turned into an IUI and I won't feel bad about missing a cycle, and then can go onto regular IVF next cycle. If we get 4-5 mature follicles, they go ahead with Mini IVF. It's all a gamble I guess!
Sorry, to hijack the post, just wanted to explain why I was suggesting as something to ask your RE about if you are OOP....

Re: Crushed
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
We have decided not to move forward with a Fresh or FET cycle OOP.
It was a very emotional weekend. We have a lot going on in our lives, a lot of other big decisions that we need to make. The added stress of another cycle, especially one OOP, is not something we want to take on right now. Aside from whatever IF issues I have, stress is a big issue too.
So thank you all and I will occasionally check out this board and keep my fingers and toes crossed that each and every one of you gets your miracle.

Re: Crushed **Update at bottom**
I understand how frustrating this can be. We had a max of 3 IVFs under my insurance and we have used them all trying to have a second DC. We are now fully out of pocket and it is a very difficult decision about whether to keep going. We also have a lot of debt since we just purchased a new home and renovated, so I know how that effects your decision making.
I'm glad that you made a decision, I think that sometimes the unknown is the most difficult part.
