I do not think Cuomo will be held accountable, unfortunately. He won't be the first politician to get away with horrible things and he won't be the last. It could always be worse...DiBlasio wants to be governor lol.
I want a woman gov for NY.

Sexual harassment is sexual harassment. Cuomo and Trump are both sleazy men. One has nothing to do with the other, they both were wrong and should be held accountable. But I doubt anything will happen to Cuomo.
The constant comparison to Trump is bizarre. It’s like saying one man raped 10 women but the other only raped 1. The second one should get off because he’s not as bad as the former who got away with it. No, both men are disgusting pigs.
You're not making the right comparison at all. When a large swath of this country had zero issue with the sexual indiscretions of a sitting president but now have their panties in a wad over Cuomo, it reeks of hypocrisy.
I agree with you that sexual harassment is sexual harassment but unfortunately, some people seem to think you can pick and choose what sexual harassment is worth acknowledging and what sexual harassment is worth sweeping under the rug. When it comes to this situation with Cuomo, the "right" really needs to step down from their moral high ground because it's laughable. It absolutely matters that the same people who didn't care about Trump grabbing women by the pu$$y or forcing himself on them now have an attack of morality and are calling for Cuomo's head. Give me a break.
I am making the right comparison. Who really gives a crap what the people who support Trump said or are saying or what Trump did.
Cuomo seems like he is a POS and that is what we should be talking about. The constant need to always refer back to Trump has no point in topics like these. It doesn’t make sense. Cuomo doesn't get a pass because people were ok with Trump.
That comparison is so illogical and off the rails.
It's not. At all. You're just missing the point.
No I’m getting the point, I just think this point and the logic it’s following is a bit nutty.
You won’t win this one as Trump is always compared to whatever you talk about it seems.

Problem is that cuomo is on his high horse slamming anyone who was accused of sexual harassment and requiring all this training for all of NY...meanwhile he’s an offender. I’m If he wasn’t judging everyone it would be different.
Plus, on top of it he’s got the nursing home scandal which he is just placing the blame on everyone but himself. He’s quick to always say things shouldn’t be about politics but he makes it political. He’s a walking contradiction and it finally bit him in the butt.
I don’t think anything will come from it tho. Definitely not impeachment. He won’t resign. His political career is just over once his term is up.

Soooooo.......... like Trump then? Blame everyone else, take no personal responsibility and never be held accountable.
I'm not in any way defending Cuomo because as far as I'm concerned everyone should be held accountable for their actions however, every Republican who is calling for his head can just settle down because they sound like a bunch of hypocrites. Inappropriate behavior and irresponsibility doesn't seem to bother them one bit so long as it serves their agenda.
This situation is the perfect example of why everyone should be held to the same standard of conduct. It can't be ok for a president but not ok for a governor. The pearl clutching outrage over Cuomo is ridiculous.

By bringing up Trump and Republicans it seems like you are giving Cuomo a pass and defending him. Also the title of this thread is “Cuomo” not “Trump and Republicans compared to Cuomo”.
There have been many misogynist, womanizers, sexual abusers and harassers in office long before Trump, both Republican and Democratic. This trend did not start with Trump.
There are many people including posters on here who are not Republicans or Trump fan (myself included) and think Cuomo needs to go. He needs to be held accountable, all these men do. Idc who you are.
I wish we can focus more on what’s going on and less on a Trump, seeing as he is out off office! That cancer took up four years already.

When half of this country spent four years brushing every discretion under the rug but now has an attack of moral conscience, it's BS.
I thought Clinton was inappropriate, Trump was inappropriate, Cuomo is inappropriate. I am consistent. Picking and choosing your outrage because of political party affiliation is hypocrisy.

Re: Cuomo
Yes it was consensual but with the whole me too movement, research has come out that men of power can sometimes assert themselves and convince woman to do stuff they shouldn’t. It’s was inappropriate for Bill Clinton to enter into a relationship, consensual or not. That is why HR has forms that need to be submitted if you are engaging in an office relationship.
Would Monica have taken the risk or ruined her career if Bill Clinton wasn’t in that position? Highly doubt it.

I think he will finish out his term and after that his political career will be over. What SHOULD happen is a whole other story
Same. Between the sexual harrassment AND the nursing home coverup (which I felt should've been enough to drive him out before the sexual harrassment claims started).
His COVID rules have angered a large portion of his voting base - the Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Bloc - so even if he does seek re-election, I don't think he will get it.

Re: Cuomo
I try not to engage in whataboutism. It sure is tempting here though as the hypocrisy is indeed rich. Are only men with an R next to their name allowed to be sc!mbags?
However, at the end of the day I determine my own moral code - not the political winds and certainly not a bunch of right wing nutjobs.
So ultimately - as I think I said in another thread - Cuomo needs to be investigated, held accountable, probably should resign, and at minimum should go away when his term is up.
To actually answer the question, I can see him running again. I'm not sure if he'd win again. I can see a tight race. Hopefully they pass the NYHA before he's out of office in case we end up with some Repub.
FTR Clinton should have been convicted for obstruction of justice.

I don't care what party you are with. Trump was wrong Clinton was wrong Cuomo is wrong. I can go on and on. One not getting punished doesn't make the other any less wrong. Some things are not about party lines. My feelings are the same for all men who do this to women. I'm not saying to automatically believe it- but it needs to be investigated.

Re: Cuomo
I think the biggest problem with this country, politically and otherwise, is this bizarre willingness to blindly follow your party or candidate or politician of choice down any disgusting corrupt rabbit hole simply because it's your political party. But then if the other party's candidate does the same thing *their* action is wrong, but not your candidate. He's too precious. It's extremely bizarre and short-sighted. There's no limit to the amount of disgusting atrocities Americans are willing to excuse because we think somehow we won some giant prize with all this rampant garbage we let walk free. Holding everybody to the same standard of decency is unamerican I guess. The hypocrisy runs abound in this country and it's not restricted by political party. I'd like to start seeing ALL these people held accountable for their actions regardless of their politics.
We're at such a low point in this country when we grasp at straws to protect any abuser. It's disgusting.
Eta: to answer the question I honestly couldn't even guess what will happen to him as any sort of consistency when handling this kind of crap seems to be lacking across the board.

Re: Cuomo
To be completely honest I don't even care about the sexual harassment allegations. Especially ones from years ago. The fact of the matter is that things were different years ago and a lot more was tolerated, even encouraged. We need to stop holding people accountable for things that they did in the past that were perfectly acceptable by societies standards at the time that they happened. As for the more recent allegations, I agree that he was inappropriate and he should apologize for his behavior but these things alone would not be cause for someone to resign in my opinion. Perhaps he should get some sensitivity training. I don't believe he was really trying to harm anyone or to use his position of power to sleep with people. I think he's just really misguided on his idea of how appealing he is as a lover and that not many would want to sleep with him, governor or otherwise.
That being said, I think that his cover up of nursing home deaths should be cause enough for him to be impeached and resign. I actually think that the sexual misconduct allegations are taking away from the severity of the fact that he covered up what he did and was trying to force others to help him do so.

I agree with this. I am surprised that people aren't more outraged about the nursing homes to be honest. I think the guy is a narcissist who thinks way more of himself than he should. But I also don't think he is some sexual predator. He did cause countless elderly to die that didn't have to. And that is the real problem here.

The nursing home and group home issue is what should be pushing his resignation.
