Curious about starting veggies

My DD is 4 mo. old. She had a ped apt. today and he said to start her on 2 tablespoons of cereal a day and to continue with that until her apt at the end of Aug. (She'll be 7 mo. then.) He didn't say anything about starting anything else.

When did you start your DC on veggies/fruits OR when do you plan to? I am really just curious. This is all new to me!

We too started cereal after her 4 month appointment...About a week into it, I started giving her a half container of fruit with it and now she gets alternating fruit and veggies at just over 5 months...My ped said to start her w/ 2 tablespoons cereal and to increase little by little ( my DD looks at me like " wheres the rest" when I only give her 2 tbsp, she outgrew that quickly)The ped also said we could start both fruits/veggies as soon as we wanted to and she loves them ! I would just let her belly get used to the solids and then see about fruits/veggies...My ped gives me a sheet at the end of every visit, letting me know what to expect/do etc...Does yours give an reference sheet like that maybe ?

We started at 6 months, and I gave him veggies before fruit, but I really don't think it matters which they get first. My pediatrician said the same, but a lot of people kept telling me give veggies before fruit or he won't eat veggies. Now at 18 months, he doesn't eat veggies anyway!
