Curly Haired Girls

I'm looking for recommendations of stylists.

I am in DESPARATE need of a haircut (my last one was last May - since my daughter came 3 weeks early) and I haven't been to happy with the last few people I went to (the last one somehow convinced me that I should have bangs....need I say more?).

I had a stylist that I loved, but she isn't cutting anymore.

Any recommendations would be truly appreciated! I am in Smithtown, but willing to travel a bit.

I just went to my friends salon because I was sick of spending 50 bucks on a haircut!
It's Angelo and Company and they are on Hillside Ave in Williston Park. Maria cut my hair, and while she chopped off more than I would like, I needed a good cut.

$35 with a blowout!

it's far for you but I go to Sorell in Roslyn. I use Janine. She's the best.

I have very curly hair and up until very recently, I was traveling to LI from CT just for haircuts from the same stylist- Jack from Meridian hair Salon in Commack- I am from smithtown- it was about a 15 min. drive and WELL worth it- NOT the cheapest around, but you will get a fantastic haircut!

Just make sure that wherever you go they don't give you TOO many layers. This happened to me and I almost chopped all my hair off b/c I hated it so much. Stylists are SO into layering curly hair and they don't do a very good job sometimes b/c they think the curl will hide imperfections.

Anyway...I've spent the last 6 months growing out my layers so I don't look like I have a mullet. Good luck wherever you go!

There is a great stylist in Commack at Hairquest. George is excellent, with curly hair, color, he makes sure he cuts to fit the person, not always what everyone else is doing.
