Re: CURVES thread

I did that with WW before becoming PG. I lost over 20lbs. in a few months. Stick with it, do more than 30 minutes, if possible. I did the 30 workout 3 days a week, with 15 minutes of mat pilates. The rest of the time I did urban rebounding for cardio or walked.

Curves is great because as you loose weight you won't have that flabby skin, you will be firm. Chat Icon

I'm already doing way better than I did on WW. I see results a lot faster, and with ym bust schedule I'm not worried about counting points.

Re: CURVES thread

I joined about 2 weeks ago. I think I am also on workout #7 or so. I am going tonight, so I will know for sure.

I haven't lost anything yet, but it's been such a short time. I definately feel it in my muscles though! I go about 4X a week. Chat Icon

We should keep each other updated! I can use all the support I can get, since my DH doesn't give me any! And I am sure you can too.

Good Luck!

Re: CURVES thread

I have been a member for over a year. Definately do more than 30 minutes if you can- I added an extra 15 minutes and it really helps.

Re: CURVES thread

AH! Last night was only my 6th workout! But I did go around three times for a total of 45 minutes, then stretched and did 100 crunches on my own. I got out of work early for a change, so decided to push myself a little harder yesterday!

Re: CURVES thread

Curves Forum

it can be a great resource and source of inspiration, BUT I warn you, there are a lot of ladies out there who think they know the BEST and ONLY want to do Curves, and they can be annoying. Just remember, you're going to cirves for you, not to win the trophy for the one to best stick to the exact specs of the curves program!

Re: CURVES thread

AH! I just got home from curves. I've gone 5 days in a row this week! Chat Icon I am doing 3 times around and then 100-200 crunches on my own after I stretch! Talk about motivation!!!! I've got to keep this up and make it part of my weekly routine, otherwise I will lose it!!! I get weighed & measure on the 7th!

Is it really bad to go 5-6 days in a row without giving your body a rest? I feel like if I go every other day, I will lose the motivation!

Keep up the good work ladies!

Re: CURVES thread

Do you alternate strength training days with aerobic days? You're really supposed to give your muscles 48 hours to recover, so they can repair and that's when they'll actually begin to build. The Curves solution to this si to have every other day, if you go ever day be an "aerobic" day where you get your heart rate up on the boards, and you go through the motions on hte machines at 50%. The only machines you do full on are ab/back, lateral pulls and I think obliques, if you have that machine (mine doesn't). That way every other day you're not straining your muscles, just moving them to get a full range of motion, and keeping your heart rate up on the boards. HTH

Curves Forum has a lot more info on this.

Re: CURVES thread

Oh and wish me luck..tomorrow (really today april 1) is my first Weigh/Measure Day.

I know I've made progress, but I'm really bloated from AF, so I know I'm not going to see the numbers I've worked hard for!

I am going to go to the Curves near me and try to sign up tomorrow. Last time I tried there was a problem with transferring my membership over... and then I never followed through with it! Chat Icon

But now I am super motivated (down 7.2 lbs) and I am actually excited to go!!

Hopefully it will go smoothly tomorrow!

I was sort of disappointed with my results, though I know I shouldn't really be. I lost 4lbs, .7% body fat and 1.5 inches, but I feel like I lost more inches!!!
I haven't been dieting at ALL BTW, so I'm sure I'd do better with dieting as well.

Still, that's really not bad. It's a start. Now my back has been bothering me, so I really need to push myself to keep going.

Re: CURVES thread

Those are GREAT numbers!! Keep it going!

I didn't go for 10 days (first I had back probs, then I was sick), and it's so hard getting back into it. I need some encouragement. I feel like I'm flabbing back up before my very eyes, and it's so hard to get back intot he habit.

Re: CURVES thread

You are all doing so good. We are going to vegas next week and I am nervous not exercising for a few days, I keep telling myself I am going to be doing a lot of walking.
I am not fond of the machine that you lift on your shoulders.

Everyone hates the squats. I actually have to modify it b/c it would KILL my back. At least it's only a minute and a half of your workout! Chat Icon
