custom closet doors

Ok, in our condo we have floor-to-ceiling closet doors. Love the height and don't want to get rid of that. The problem is home depot/lowes doesn't carry that size in stock, it would have to be special ordered. In addition, our master bedroom has a triple slider. Its actually a pain, but its allows so much space. The doors are the original and the tracks are so old and the wheels on the doors are bending so they constantly fall off the tracks (these doors are from 1972!!!)

SO my question, has anyone had custom closet doors made? How much would they cost? Did you have a company do it and install the new tracks?

P.S. both bedrooms have sliders so we need sliders. Thanks

Do you have to have sliders?
Could you take the tracks out and put in those doors that fold out? It might cost you less money.

I was thinking that but in the master they would be extremely large foldouts because the length is about 14 feets!!
The 2nd bedroom won't be as rough because its a traditional sized slider but they are floor to ceiling.

I also have to get fold-out doors for my hall & linen closet eventually. They are original metal doors (yuck!).

Re: custom closet doors

Can you ask the maintenance people if they have any leftover?
When we moved into our co-op, our inside front door was a mess, but it was also custom to the apartment. We contacted maintenance and they had an extra one lying around and they gave it to us for free.
Worth a try...

its not a co-op its a condo and personally I want new doors. Maintance doesn't do any interior work and these were built in 1972. All interior repairs is strickly the homeowner including the windows, doors, patios, etc. Thanks though
