Custom Framing Question

I just went to get our wedding pic matted and framed and almost dropped dead. They said about $150 (that was WITH a 50% off coupon) at AC Moore. Plus I picked out a really simple matte and frame.

Is that price right with what you guys have paid?

Has anyone seen picture frames for sale that are matted for a 16x20? I see so many frames for 16x20's but they are not matted.

That sounds about right. We paid about that amount for a double matted 16x20 picture in a pretty simple frame. We went to Michaels when they were having a 50% off framing order (not just frame) special.

Try Michael's. I got a better price than that on a larger frame. Mine was $120.

Re: Custom Framing Question

Isnt 16x20 a normal size frame?

I wouldnt get something framed unless it was an akward picture size.

Its way too pricey and I feel that you can find a really nice frame for 1/2 the price.
AC Moore...Home goods, etc.

We found a beautiful 16 x 20 double matted frame in KOHLS for our 11 x 14 wedding picture that cost $50.

We always get compliments on it. Sure the $200 frame in Michaels was nicer, but definitely not worth if to me.

Re: Custom Framing Question

It is so funny that you posted this today b/c I just came from Michaels and found out that you can't buy a matt for a 16x20. The girl told me anything that size would have to be custom made. She more or less said I have 3 options.

1. Get a 16x20 frame and don't matt the pic

2. Get a 16x20 frame with a matt on it and only expose 11x14 of the pic

3. Custom order either the Matt or whole frame w/ matt

I just wanted to do something inexpensive since my wedding pic has been sitting in the cardboard box for 2.5yrs now and I don't have furniture in my Living room where I am going to put it so it was going to be a temporary frame until I got something to match the Furniture.
Guess that isn't happening.
