Cycle cancelled
Apparently I responded too well to the meds and have too many follicles and am at risk for multiples. I can't stop crying. This was my first try. I was all ready to go for timed intercourse. Now they are talking about putting me on BC to get rid of all these follicles.

i'm sorry, i did a couple of IUI cycles late summer/early fall and responded too well to the meds as well, even on a reduced dosage... can't they just have you take the trigger to make sure all the follies release? That is what they had me do (although I was crampy for a few days after). good luck!!

I have to be on birth control pills for 10 days, wait for stupid AF and the go on 25 mg of Clomid and start all over again. I was so ^)#*^$ ready too. Just mentally and physically and then to have the rug pulled out I am just angry. Thanks for letting me vent.

That's SO frustrating. I'm so sorry  But, bright side is you know that your body is reacting to the medicine, which I know for me when I was on the 50mg, I barely made one follicle and the cycle was a BFN.

I'm so sorry. Do you mind if I ask how many is too many? I just did 5 days of clomid at 50mg and produced 4 follicles.

BabybearA I had 3 over 18 mm one at 21 and another 3 that were about to mature too so that was the high risk. Apparently another woman at the practice was in the same boat as me, clomid and timed intercourse, but she didn't listen to the RE and triggered after they told her not to and now she is pregnant with "more than 3" babies. So now BC pills for 10 days, AF hopefully, and then 25 mg of clomid.

I see... I produced 4 and my cousin asked if the doctor was concerned but he wasn't. I wasn't triggering, he just told me to bd at min every other night or more if possible. In 2ww now. Do most women trigger after clomid? Not sure why my re didn't mention triggering...

i'm so sorry this cycle didn't work out for you. at least you know you respond well to the meds. i had to take 150mg of clomid and only ever made one follicle.

I really don't know what the protocol is to be honest with you. This would have been my first time. But I did clomid and then I was supposed to do the ovidrel trigger yesterday so I could ovulate. I have PCOS so apparently I don't ovulate on my own or don't ovulate regularly or something like that.

That's why I took Clomid also - I have PCOS, and don't ovulate regularly. I was on 50mg first cycle, only produced one good sized follicle, triggered and BFN. Second time, they upped it to 100mg, I procuded 2 good sizes follicles , triggered and just got a BFP. If anything, maybe your amount was just too high but now they atleast know so its a better protocool for next time. Don't feel discouraged, it def takes time to understand how your body reacts to it all.

Thank you. I tried so hard not be angry at the Re - I KNOW (in my head) it is not his fault being my first cycle - but I had all this anger and had to channel it on someone. I just need to pull myself together and get ready again. I just kinda lost my enthusiasm. All I need is one good follicle, right?
