Dairy Allergy Moms (of toddlers)

What did you do when your dc turned 1? Did you go to regular soy milk or switch to a soy-based toddler formula (like Similac's Go & Grow Soy Milk)?

Our ped told us that we can do either, but REALLY seemed to be leaning more towards the toddler formula. I like the idea of the formula, but DS was EBF for most of his 1st year & I can't believe the cost of it! Chat Icon I think I might switch to regular soy milk soon...

We went to soy milk. It was about 3 years ago, I don't know that they had those formulas back then.

Re: Dairy Allergy Moms (of toddlers)

My DD was EBF until 1 year and then we switched to similac soy go & grow formula.

My DD isn't a great eater. Since she can't consume fat from milk, cheese, yogurt etc, I'm more comfortable knowing that she is getting better nutrition from the formula than soy milk.

Hopefully, if she begins to eat better, I'll switch her to soy milk between 18 and 24 months.

I buy it online from target It is $113 for a case (6 containers) with free shipping.

DS is a really good eater, but he also can't have cheese, yogurt, etc without having a reaction. I read the label of the Go & Grow formula last night and it looks like it's really packed with a lot of nutrients. I'd like to stick w/it so I think I'll shop around & look for some coupons, etc. Thanks for the tip about Target!
