Dark chocolate lovers.... Why?!
Why oh why do I love dark chocolate so much. Its so BITTER!
Then all of a sudden smooth sweetness of chocolate sorta coats over that. OMG! Haha I just got a cupcake (yes its 10am and yes I’m eating it) Chocolate cupcake but a bitter dark chocolate frosting that’s sorta way too bitter to start then smooths out. I keep eating it! LOL you wanna say ‘ew’ then its yum and oooh lemme do that again.
LOL sorry
Just a friendlier topic.

Re: Dark chocolate lovers.... Why?!
I have a friend who eats 99% Dark Chocolate. It tastes like aspirin!! I had a very tiny piece and almost puked. I don't mind dark chocolate but the high percentage stuff is nasty!
ETA: He's a teacher and one time had a bar of it in his desk. Some kids found out he had chocolate and rummaged through his desk to find it. Needless to say they never did that again after tasting the 99%!

wanna know the best thing about dark choc?? studies have shown that it can lower your BMI when consumed daily! BUT, consuming it in small amounts lol not like an entire choc bar a day! And, it's good for your heart too! enjoy!

Re: Dark chocolate lovers.... Why?!
I love dark chocolate. Just 60% dark though. Anything more gets too bitter for me.
I can only eat milk chocolate with stuff in it, like nuts, otherwise it holds no interest for me.

Dark chocolate lovers.... Why?!
To me there's nothing better than some creamy Dark chocolate molten cake with a dusting of cocoa then some fresh tart strawberries on the side (with blueberries and raspberries) too topped separately with fresh (not canned) whipped cream and a nice glass of Cabernet to go with it.. OMG *sigh*

Re: Dark chocolate lovers.... Why?!
I love dark chocolate - although 70% suits my taste. Not sweet, just enough bitterness, a bit smoky too. Especially when I have a glass of a nice red wine, tastes so good together.
I like milk chocolate too, but dark chocolate wins.
Now I want chocolate.

Re: Dark chocolate lovers.... Why?!
LOL PF Chang's USED to have this on their dessert menu. Honestly when they dropped it we stopped eating there. So now I just have that fond memory to feast on. Plus it gives us an excuse to keep trying EVERY ONE's chocolate desserts.
There's a german bakery in Huntington. (Reinwald's) Who makes an AWESOME chocolate cake. I was told it was dark chocolate (but it wasn't) and we ate EVERY single chocolate thing they could make in a cake until we finally came back to regular chocolate and loved it.

OH I go the next level..
Take the box.. take TWO bags mix it according to the directions then add in HALF a bag of Ghirardelli Dark chocolate Chips, put it all into a 13X9 and let it bake nearly an hour. Pull it out, let it sit over night to cool and firm and cut it up.
Its a devilish dark chocolate delight and its really rich without being like a fudge.
Enjoy!
PS: You get the box at Costco and it comes with 6 bags!
ETA#2: I also add in a cup of walnuts for us and sometimes macadamia (sp) nuts if I'm in the mood or white chocolate chips to make it a little different. but ALWAYS a half bag of dark goes in.
I call it my Quadruple Chocolate Chip Brownie. Been making them for about 5yrs now. Ironically a similar receipe is now online. But that double bag means its TWICE the batch in half the space!! Oh and if you're lazy like me.. you put Parchment paper on the bottom. The whole thing just picks right out of the pan. Parchment doesn't stick to the brownies (other than if it folds INTO the brownie. I spend more time getting my strips right so that it pulls out even LOL. Hubby laughs at me. I hate losing even a tiniest corner of this brownie.
Ironically, I send half to his office, a quarter to mine and only keep one quarter of this for ourselves.
