dark granite with cherry cabinets???
DH loves the look...I feel it may be too dark...we have a small kitchen...so I am afraid that the dark colors will make it look smaller...opinions?

Spice up my kitchen on HGTV said in a small kitchen dark cabinets and counters can actually make a small space appear bigger.
Sidenote, Love the combination.

I'm thinking of that too. I have very cherry cabinets with stainless appliances. Cherry floor. I have corian now and would love to upgrade. I also have a small kitchen. I want to paint it a very warm shade of tan to complement it. (i'm dreaming..not happening right away, but within the next year I hope)

we just bought our kitchen.. waiting for it to get installed..
we have Cherry Cabinets
with dark granite.. it has a little grey in it..
i lOVE the look.. goes very well together..
we are doing a light floor so its not all so dark.. and a light backsplash too

In our previous house we had dark cherry cabinents with Uba Tuba Granite (it was a dark green) and it looked AWESOME! It was soo rich looking.
Now in this house we have the exact opposite- antique white cabinents and a almond-gold granite.

We just re-did our kitchen and have cherry cabinets with a light granite with red metallic flakes in it that pulls the cherry from the cabinets - BEAUTIFUL and LIGHT!!! We also bough Stainless appliances. The granite is called Venetian Gold.
