Day 11 of new year, new me - 1/13 update at bottom

Im sooooo sadly out of shape, I did the low intensity workout on the Wii active and it just kicked my butt....particularly the "inline skating" I thought my legs were going to fall off. But I did it.

Also day one of quitting smoking....successful!

Also day one of Weight Watchers.....on target!

Lets hope I keep it up this time, Ive done this before and look where I am now.

How do you stay motivated?

Sounds like a great first day!!

Weight Watchers, working out, and quiting smoking- that is awesome! Are you trying to quit cold turkey or using the patch?

I quit smoking about 4yrs ago. I just quit cold turkey, once I got through the first mont or two I was fine.


I need to start my New Years Diet too....( but unfortunately I splurged again today) lol. HOpefully tomorrow I will start. Chat Icon

Cold Turkey - Ive quit clod turkey before back when I got my BFP with DS and didnt go back until sometime around his first birthday (LIKE A JACK@SS!), cold turkey usually works best for me.

The worst part right now, is since Im doign WW, not being able to constantly snack.

If nothing else by the end of the year, and I still have these 20lbs to lose and I still cant do more than 15 sit ups, Ill be happy if Im not smoking.

i just take it one day at a time. you'll hit dome bad days down the road. don't let one bad day get you down. you just need to get back on the horse and start again

Just take it one day at a time, I'll be starting again tomorrow on monday this is my last cheat day!! With the support of family and friends makes it so easy, Having a support buddy to exercise with is good too... I'm going to cook more and make a menu of things were going to eat.. Chicken, eggwhites, whole wheat products.. I'm going to measure my foods out again and stick with W.W. ice cream and snacks.Chat Icon Good luck we are all here to support one another.Chat Icon

Wow, you're doing a lot all at the same time! That's great! I just started the EA Active today and the inline skating is ridiculous...I did 2 out of 24 tricks!Chat Icon

Posting this every day, makes me feel accountable, LOL

WW - .5 pt left

Quitting smoking - day 3 is a success

Working out - today is my "rest" day according to EA active....but I did do 40ish crunches (2 sets of 20ish), 6 push ups and tried the plank and about 50 squats.

This is my third time....Im good at maintainging for a while after I lose it, but then 2 years later, its always back and back on WW I go. Its always about 25lbs, although Ive never exercised and done it before, so we will see if that helps.

If you do...good luck with it! Im trying my beginners pilates DVD tonight at your rec, as soon as DH gets off the good TV, LOL

You should be so proud of yourself---especially conquering 3 goals at once (smoking, exercise and diet). Keep it up!!

I started a diet & fitness program with the new year as well. I still have 25 lbs of pregnancy weight to shed.

I workout with a friend/ coworker 4 days before work. I get up at the butt crack of dawn (5:30) only to get on my workout/running clothes, drive 45 minutes to work, workout, shower and get dressed in the school gym and be ready for work at 8:15. I am telling you, meeting up with that friend is HUGE motivation. I feel like if I don't do it, I let her down and she is invested in the same way. (ETA: We also weigh in weekly--in front of one another---in our skivvies & bra----she is much more slender so that is a kick in the *** every week!) Recruit a partner if necessary.

Personal motivation for me is definitely fitting back into my old clothes. I take out my old pants and try them on---hello---they don't go passed my hips---motivation to keep going for sure! I can't afford a new wardrobe. I am dying to get out of my "fat" clothes.

Another thing that makes it manageable is having a cheat meal weekly---which it sounds like you do as well. Sunday is sundae night so that is my weekly treat that I work for.

WW - points on target - I cheated and weighed, and -2lbs (23 to go)

Day 4 of quitting smoking a success...and let me tell you, I can already see a difference, I think the quitting combined with the cardio has helped. I didnt get winded carryinf DS up the stairs and wasnt winded during my EA Active workout for the first time.

Plus, I think this working out thing is helping to curb the urge to smoke bc instead Im focused on my diet, and workouts instead of my next cig. Not that it doesnt hit me, but so far, so good.

Exercise - did day 3 of EA active and while it was certainly a workout, it didnt kick my *** tonight. I actually went and did an extra 5 minutes after my workout was over.

And for those getting tired of reading this, it makes me accountable....its not really bc I want you to know every detail of my healthy me, it keeps me motivated to come and write about it. If it keeps up for a month, Im going to move it over to a blog.

Day 5 - nothing terribly exciting to report.....Im not nearly as sore as I was on Sunday. Tomorrow is my "rest" day, and Im really going to rest.

WW - on target with points

Smoking - day 5, still not smoking!!!

Exercise - day 4 of the EA Active and inline skating kicked my butt again today.

Day 8 - Im back

I took two days off from posting and exercising bc we took DS to Disney on Ice Thursday night and last night I had a migraine and went to bed straight from work, but Im back

Ive officially not been smoking for ONE WEEK now! It is getting a little harder, but Im hanging in there!

Working out today - Did day 5 of the EA active challenge - TWICE
Floor exercises
and the Ab Ball workout DVD

WW - weighed in yesterday - down 2.5lbs.

I may go for a run later. Im starting to find this owrkout thing addictive.

Day 9
Stepped up the EA active to moderate intensity today, it was more challenging but it didnt completely kick my butt. The inline skating and I though, we are going to have it out really soon, LOL. In addition, I did some floor exercises, some 5lb weights and the ab ball.

As for WW - NOT a good day. It was my nephews 1st birthday party and I went WAY over, I literally used like half of my flex points for the week today. Im having guilt about it bc I shouldve used more self control and made better choices today. But its a learning process, so we shall see. I hope it doesnt screw up my weigh in this week.

As for not smoking - ONE WEEK!
