Day 5 Transfer

I am so torn right now-I am going in tomorrow for my transfer which will be on day 5. When we signed the consent forms we decided to transfer one embryo on day 5 or two on day 3. After the day 3 transfer was canceled, I was kind of depressed because the possibility of having twins wouldn't be there anymore. Now the Day 5 transfer is tomorrow, and all I keep thinking about is should be stick with one like we decided or ask for two. Has anyone dealt with this before that can put my mind at ease?

Re: Day 5 Transfer

you may want to call your RE's office & check, they may have frozen the other embryo all ready. GL

Re: Day 5 Transfer

If it gives you any inspiration- I was pushed to a day 5 and due to possible OHSS, the Dr. persuaded me to only transfer 1 (my plan was 2 and I was devastated, thinking that I had cut my odds in 1/2- which the Dr. said is not true- it decreases your chances by 2% only according to her) I am now 13 weeks pg w/ a singleton...Before you make yourself crazy, as the other posters said, see that the others haven't been frozen yet...Also my mind-set, after I became more rational- was that if I didnt get pg. on that transfer, at least I would have another excellent quality blast to do a frozen transfer with, instead of the risk of neither taking and having to do a whole 'nother fresh cycle...Good Luck , with whatever you decide !!!Chat Icon

Re: Day 5 Transfer

Thank you for all of your responses. I also have a mild case of OHSS, which started on Saturday. Fortunately I feel much better today. I emailed the doctor to see what my embryos look like, he is very good at returning messages.

Re: Day 5 Transfer

We didn't have to make a decision today, RE recommended putting back two embryos-so that's what we did. All that stress yesterday for nothing. thanks for all of your input!
