Daycare/childcare on LI---cost?
I don't know if there is another current forum (for 2011), but I would like to find out how much you charge/pay for private daycare OR daycare centers for 1 infant. How long is the day?
I'm planning on returning to work when my baby is 3 months. I'm currently 30 weeks.

I couldn't give you the cost of a daycare, but I do have experience in private providers. My daughter went to a private provider, as well as my sister's daughters. I now babysit for one little girl in my home, a friend's daughter, during the week.
I would say that on average about $250 a week for 5 full days is what I've seen most!

I charge $50/day, lol, and it is a LONG day! She gets here at 6:30 am and stays until usually 5pm!
My sister pays $50 also for her provider.

I meant $60/day for a day care, not for a private provider. Not sure about that, I've heard $50 to $55 for private too.

Really? That's great! I was planning on paying $300 a week for 6:45 to 2:15 and it's a family member.

Really? That's great! I was planning on paying $300 a week for 6:45 to 2:15 and it's a family member.
Well, this is a very good friend. So I feel bad charging her any more then that. I have worked it out, it is usually about 53 hours a week total. But I couldn't imagine asking her any more then that, and the good thing is that it enables me to be a SAHM.

My DS is in a major chain center and is $100/day - he is only PT full days, so it goes down to about $80/day for FT

Most places I have spoken to, in home or a facility are appropximately $80 a day or $10 an hour. We only need part time day care and it's still an arm and a leg!

I'm also wondering how much PT is for a private provider, M-F 8am-1pm, 5 hours a day, 20 hours a week.

I pay $1347 per month.. full time 2 year old.. Infant was $1400 per month...
popular Chain daycare.
