Cost of an infant (not daycare)
I'm trying to do a budget spreadsheet for us so we can manage things when DS starts daycare in the fall.
What would you say you spend on your 6-month old or infant monthly? At that pt I expect I'll be buying formula - so diapers, wipes, formula - what else?
TIA

Re: Cost of an infant (not daycare)
well DD is almost 2 months old and so far we spend about $100 a month on formula, about another $100 a month on diapers sometimes more, we got a huge package of wipes for my shower so we have not had to buy any of that yet we also got a ton of bath items (wash, shampoo, lotions) so I won't need those for a long time. Also toys everytime I go out I find something else that DD might want or need. Batteries for all the toys, swing, etc. And also clothes, granted I did recieve a ton of clothes as well however some things we still needed for each stage. I'd say roughly we spend about anywhere between $300-$500 a month on DD so far. And I know that this price will go up as she grows and starts eating fruits, solids, etc. HTH

Re: Cost of an infant (not daycare)
Great questions. I'm wondering the same thing. I know daycare is going to stretch our budget this fall and it would be good to know how much all the rest is going to add up to.

Re: Cost of an infant (not daycare)
- Formula - If you BF, freezer bags - Bottles, nipples, liners (you will need to replace them every so often) - Diapers - Wipes - diaper cream (you may need to buy several to find the right one for you) - bath products - name labels for daycare
Things I have to replace all the time since we tend to lose them all the time
- pacifiers - socks
Things we had to replace because it did not last
- thermometer
Things we don't think about
- toys (DC won't be playing with the same toys after several months). I just replaced a lot of toys for DS who is 10 months (music table, learning toys, etc..)
Moms also ended up buying a new stroller later on.

I started off budgeting about $300 but now at 7 months I spend more.
