So they don't use a daily rate? Like if you're paying $300/5 days it wouldn't be $180/3 days?
DD will be going down to 2 days a week for the summer - my mom is home and will watch her 2 days and I'm keeping her in 2 days (to keep a routine and to save her spot) so we'll be paying $100 a week.

My daycare is the same way. It's 385/week for my 11 month old, with early drop off. But I if I did part time it would be 100/day plus early drop off fee is 20 dollars a week.

I find that at mine it is more cost efficient to send your child 5 days vs 2 or 3.
The cost per day/hour works out cheaper if you are doing 5 days.

You can send your child 2 days, 3 days or 5 days (they don't even have a 4 day option)
Which every you choose you pay a set weekly rate.
And like I said, it's more cost efficient if you are doing 5 days- like the price per hour/day comes out cheaper that way. Almost like you are getting a volume discount in a way

My daycare is in suffolk. It would be 507 per week for a toddler and an infant. For 10 hours.

I didn't get to read everybody's responses, so I'm not sure if anybody's already said this. But usually (not always, but it was the case for my mom's home daycare when I was growing up and what I practice with my own childcare service now) is that the second child isn't charged full price. You said you have a nanny, right? She may do what I do in my home daycare, which is that I charge one child full price (the most expensive of the 2 - which would be the infant) and the 2nd is half price. So if she usually charges something like $600 a week, then with two it would be along the lines of $900 a week (give or take). I'm not sure how actual centers work with siblings, and I assume not all home daycares and nannies are alike. But that's what I do and what I would kind of want to ask for being that paying for 2 full price kids would be a LOT! lol.

Oy that sucks! We did 5 days until it worked out to be cheaper for me to stay home a day bc we pay a daily rate.

We use an in-home licensed daycare and it's a daily rate, but we do part-time (3 days per week). 70/day per kid. So with the two of them going 3 days a week it's 420/week.
It's going to be less expensive in the fall when DD1 goes to pre-k 5 full days!

This feedback is so helpful - thanks everyone!
My "finding" is that we'll be paying something comparable, though slightly higher than some daycare options - but for that extra money, my laundry is done, house is clean - and I get the convenience of not lugging the kids out in the morning. They stay sleeping and I just leave. (I should note, some days I leave at 6am - which is highly unlikely for most day care facilities that I checked out….and my nanny accommodates me with no problems.)
While it feels like I pay her a lot of money, the conveniences are worth it.
How much more is it going to be for 2?
My babysitter had a set "rate" in mind that she'd like to make per hour. That included 2 children, in our case (1 in school half day, but there are plenty of times that school is not in session).
We didn't have her clean, but she did do kids laundry all the time & I leave early too (too early for most daycares).
She's very happy with what she makes & is happy to pitch in extra hours.
In my case, a babysitter was more economical.
Now that DS will be in K full time, there is no other option (DH and I go to work super early).

When I lived in Queens the 'chain daycare' we were at we were paying 1485 for 1 infant it reduced gradually as the child got older, and 10% off sibling.
I am now in Westchester at a different 'chain' the going rate is 1400 I am reduced because I know the owner so I pay 930 per kid, normally it's 10% off sibling.

$3K a month for one in an infant room and one in a toddler room. 8AM - 6PM M-F in Nassau County.
Ugg!
