Daycare moms- who pack lunch
I am getting bored with sandwhiches. Any other ideas of what to send with Jordana for school?
Thanks!

Re: Daycare moms- who pack lunch
Most days I pack a little container of cottage cheese, some cut up vegetables like cucumber and tomatoes, and a dollop of hummus. With some fruit, too.
Sometimes I'll give her egg salad with pita, sometimes falafel with hummus and pita (frozen falafel from costco).
Sometimes cut up veggie burgers with hummus and pita.
A lot of times I'll just give her leftovers from the night before (usually grilled fish, couscous and veggies)
Gadi makes this disgusting concoction that she loves - he mixes up avocado with hard boiled egg and puts it on bread
My fail saife is vegetarian chicken fingers with some sweet potatoes.

I wish I could get Taylor to eat a sandwich... your lucky!
I pack pizza bites, pasta, left over chinesse food, scrambled egg and english muffin, left over meatloaf, chicken nuggets

D'oh
Well, it's disgusting nonetheless
Oh yeah, once a week Gadi will make a really yummy israeli salad with homeade tahini. I will pack some of that in her lunch, with a mini-pita.
Yes, there is an overriding theme in our house. Hummus...pita...pita...hummus

Re: Daycare moms- who pack lunch
Leftovers often. Pasta or rice with chicken or pork. Always veggies- either cucumber sticks & sliced cherry tomatoes, or sliced red bell peppers, or if I have nothing fresh, then I fill up a little bowl with Nature's Promise (Stop & Shop) frozen mixed veggies, let them thaw overnight, then daycare microwaves them for lunch.
Also, turkey cold cuts and cheese rollups (DD won't really eat a sandwich with bread). Ooh, we do rice & beans with some cheddar cheese on top pretty often- again, daycare microwaves it.
Do you have to bring in "cold" lunches or can you bring in "hot" lunches that they heat up?

I don't know if I'm more envious of her healthy menu or the fact that she actually eats all that! Do they heat up food for them or does she eat the fingers and burger pieces cold/room temp?
I'm no help Shelly b/c daycare provides lunch. On occasion I have to make lunch for field trips - then it's PB&J (oh so creative) - so I'm here to read the ideas too
