Daycare teacher gifts
How much do you spend?
Loey has 2 teachers and he LOVES them both. They are the most wonderful teachers... so sweet and caring! He goes 3 days/week.
How much should I spend on their gifts? What should I get them? Do you think they'd appreciate a baked treat in addition to whatever gift I get?

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
I said to my DH that we should just give them cash b/c I dont think they get paid very much and they have such long days.
Im either going to get them stuff from B&Body works b/c i get good sales and coupons and can get them a bunch of stuff, or maybe just a visa gift card. $50 is the max i would spend. THere are 3 teachers and im not sure if I should get anything for the director/asst. director as they are also very good with DS.
Daycare is expensive enough as it is :(
what I might do is send an edible arrangement thing for the staff/directors, and then small gifts for the three teachers.
decisions decisions...

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
I have been stressing over this also. There are 5 teachers at DS's daycare so I dont think i can spend more then $25 each. They are all so wonderful and I know they take care of my son so I want to get them something nice.
I think also baking them something would be nice.

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
This has been on my mind a lot too. I'm leaning towards AMEX gift cards for his two main teachers they REALLY love him a lot & are very good to him. Then just something small for the rest....still thinking that one out...

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
I'm giving Bath and Body Works handsoaps to his teachers/directors and his main teachers will get giftcards.
I also want to give giftcards to his main teachers from the infant room (he was with them longer and seems to prefer them - he also gets dropped off in the am to the infant room teacher and picked up from the pm infant room teacher since the rooms merge in the morning and afternoon because of low enrollment).
ETA: I am thinking though I won't spend more than $25/teacher since I want to give to so many people! I'm going to end up spending more $$ on daycare presents than I am for DS!

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
DS has 1 full time teacher and an assistant. There is also a teacher that works the first hour. he goes 5/days a week at 11/hours a day. i'm giving a $100 GC to the teacher, $50 GC to the assistant and $10 GC to the morning teacher. This is also his first full year at daycare.

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
Honestly the main teacher who takes care of my DD is so amazing that I can't say enough about her. I literally feel like I'm handing DD off to a family member every day that I bring her there. I never worry or think twice when she is there. I am thining we are going to give her $100- maybe an amex gift card or even cash. I know it's a lot, but that is how strongly I feel about her and she deserves it! Plus my DH is an OVER giver- whether it be tips, gifts, etc, he always goes overboard. So maybe $100 for her and like $50 for the 2 girls in the afternoon.

I am baking gingerbread in mini loaf pans as a gift for the teachers and doing gift cards for main teachers.

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
I have been thinking about this too! Going to give $100 to his two teachers (my son is 2) and $50 to a teacher that left his room a month ago. I am not giving anything to the floaters in his room because I would be broke (the daycare has a chef so I am not sending in food for class).
My husband and I do not give gifts to each other so I figure I would give my extra money to my son's teachers.

Re: Daycare teacher gifts
There are two teachers, and 8 kids in her class. Us parents put in $20 each to get each teacher a $100 gift card (simply certificates).
