Daycare teacher holiday gifts?
I'm looking for ideas... we LOVE her teachers and want to get them something nice - there are 3 of them (one is an older woman, 2 others in their early 20's) who take care of her. Something nice, but I'm on a budget.

I got the teachers personalized Xmas ornaments - I also had "Love Cailen" written on the ornaments (They were "greatest teacher" ornaments) I plan on doing that this year as well. One teacher was Jewish - I got her a Bath & Body works set

Re: Daycare teacher holiday gifts?
Last year I did GC to Dunkin Donuts because they all go across the street to it everyday for their coffee/breakfast. I'll probably do that again this year because it seemed to go over well.

Re: Daycare teacher holiday gifts?
Last year I got them Amex gift cards and some chocolates.
This year I am giving the Amex gift cards again but everyone gets the same amount since we have 6 teachers to thank. I also got this for the two head teachers:
Coach had a great sale this weekend!

Re: Daycare teacher holiday gifts?
Last year I gave cash and bath & body works set for Xmas and coach bags for end of the year...
This year Im torn- since one of the teachers is older, and I feel weird giving $$$ (it usually is a big hit with the younger teachers though).
I like what Ang-Rich posted, I think thats a great idea. Ill have to hit the outlets.

I got these for the admin staff up front. They have been so helpful and we wanted to do something nice for them. These bags are great!

Re: Daycare teacher holiday gifts?
Last year I did Simon mall gift cards...honestly, I spent too much because we also had a sitter to give a gift to as well (one week's salary) too...
This year one of the parents is organizing a group gift from the parents to the teachers. It is much less expensive this way and I'm grateful to her for organizing it.
Perhaps that's an idea for those on a budget...try and organize it.

Re: Daycare teacher holiday gifts?
The group gift sounds great, but I've never met or seen some of the other parents... they come earlier and leave later than I do... I have very unique hours.
I'm thinking a dunkin donuts GC and the ornament... I love that idea...
I want to give one of our greeting cards - should I do it to all of them for the classroom or should I enclose it with each gift? Maybe enclose it I think?

As a teacher, you can't go wrong w/ a giftcard. I LOVE the Vera Bradley & Coach idea though too!!!

Just wanted to let you know that I never see the parents either. One parent put notes in all our mailboxes (these notes come home in their backpacks). She explained her idea with the amt. to participate, the deadline and her phone # with questions.
If we want to participate, we simply send a note back with a check or cash in a sealed envelope and ask the teacher to put it in the child's backpack.
I've never met this woman, but still, it works.
Just a thought...good luck whatever you decide. Teachers appreciate all the gifts, especially the thought!

We also got DD gift cards but now they're not allowed to eat it in the center since it's a bad example for the kids. I'm going to steal some ideas from you guys!

This s what we are doing. It works out for everyone Talk to your class parent though before setting it up. If your class mother is anything like ours, she will get upset if anyone else "suggests" anything for the entire class to do
Oh, and we all e-mail each other since some of the moms work and have the nannies do drop off and/or pick up each day.
