Days and Nights still messed up-THIS THE REAL POST
DURR
See! He needs to sleep at night or this is what happens to me
Anyway, he is 5 months old and still eating primarily at night. He will go to bed at 8-8.30pm and sleep until 11.30pm, wake up to have a bottle, then sleep until 3:30am and then have another bottle. Then he doesn't want anything to do with bottles until 12 noon or 1pm...
Can I fix this? It is starting to make me nuts now that I am working and last night he was up at 11.30pm, 1.30am and then 5.30am

You know what is really funny, if you look at all the repeated post, they all have views on them, like who ever clicked on them expected to see something different on each reapeted post..

Is he sleeping until noon-1ish, or is he awake and just not hungry?
If he's sleeping, it's going to sound mean but you have to get him up, keep the lights up bright, radio or tv on kinda loud so that he learns that we're up during the light and down during the dark.

We are going thru the same thing right now. DS goes to bed at around 8:30-9pm and last nihgt he woke up at 1Am for a feeding, then again at 4 am for anothter feeding, and then I am up at 6Am to go to work. I am not sure what the answer is. My ped said that he would start to sleep thu the night once he either hit 14lbs or months old, which ever came first. Well he will be 4months old on sunday and I am sure he is over 14lbs, so there goes that theory.
Sorry I am no help, but am interested to see if anyone has an answer.

He wakes up between 7am-9am or so..usually closer to 7am and has NO interest in eating. Sometimes I try to shove a bottle in his mouth around 9ish if the last bottle was at 3.30am, but he will only take an oz or two....

I'd try giving him less in each bottle at night so he's not so full in the am.
Or try CIO with the 3:30 feeding. I know it works for a lot of families. Sarah didn't do well with CIO and I didn't even try with Andy so I can't really give you hints on how to handle it.

I'm confused why would families let a hungry baby CIO, am I wrong but a baby can't cry away his hunger???

My doctor told me that for many babies the early morning feedings they aren't really hungry, they want attention. Like I said, I didn't do it, but I know it's worked for many other families.

I was just wondering cause the way it is with DS, I know he is really hungry, he attacks that middle of the night/early mornign bottle with a vengence with out even openingn his eyes.

Re: Days and Nights still messed up-THIS THE REAL POST
It may sound mean, but I just kept giving DD the pacifer for like the 1 am feeding.. If she continued to cry then I feed her, but if she went back to sleep she wasn't really hungry. She has been sleeping from the night since about 3-4 months. I started this at about 3 1/2 months when she started cereal... hope this helps..
ETA: Babies get used to what ever you do. So right now he is used to eating most of his food at night.

Yeah..thank you. But I try to give him the pacifer and it doesn't work, he will scream then....he has been getting cereal for over a month now as well, so that hasn't really helped at all either...
Oh and thanks Paulette for the help before I really am at a loss as to what to do. I will try giving him fewer oz when he wakes up, but I've kinda done that before and then he just wakes up more
Oh well.....
