DC's that sleep/slept in swing for naps?
When and how did/you plan on transition them into a crib? How did you do it?
Amelia will only sleep in her swing or bouncy for naps right now. I want to get her out of this habit sooner rather than later... She's 8 weeks old.
TIA!

DD is 5 weeks old and I wish I could get her to like her bouncy seat or swing just so I could put her down for a bit.
What is your DC sleeping in at night?

She's been in the miracle blanket since 4-5 weeks old. Only thing that lets her sleep at night, otherwise she's up every 1-2 hours. I would rather not swaddle her during the day since i want to get rid of the swaddle soon too. Oh did i mention she's already addicted to the paci too. This is why i want to get rid of the swing and swaddle, one less thing to break her out of down the road. :)
Amelia is just like that too, she would rather be held, she will only sit in her bouncy or swing when she's getting sleepy, otherwise no way, i have to hold her which is quite a feat when my 16 month old needs something or attention

Re: DC's that sleep/slept in swing for naps?
I think DD napped in her swing/bouncy/car seat/stroller for about 7 or 8 months until she outgrew her swing! She would always sleep in the crib at night and I always tried the cribs for naps but it was such a struggle... Occassionally she would nap in her crib but not until 6 months... Now it's the ONLY place she will nap!

DS slept in the swing a lot when he started daycare. I think that they started by turning it off while he was sleeping in it and then after a while, they would move him while he was sleeping. Now he sleeps in the crib for them.

DD would sleep in the swing for naps at first but now..she hardly does and she's going to be a month old. I've noticed she prefers to be held, but I can't hold her all day/night. I put her in her crib and if I'm lucky she'll sleep, but half of the time she wakes up the moment her head hits the mattress. It's amazing..

Re: DC's that sleep/slept in swing for naps?
With my first DD - she napped in her swing until about 8 months old. One day she fell asleep in the car, I put her in her crib, and she has napped in there ever since.
I'm doing the same with DD #2. Honestly - it just works for me. DD #2 naps well in it, and I can get a few minutes of peace while DD #1 naps in her crib, and DD #2 naps in her swing.

I guess i should just relax with the swing for now, it does give me some time without having to hold her.
It's amazing to me how my girls are complete opposites. Gianna hated the swing and to be swaddled, among other things!

My DS napped only in the swing for teh longest time - probably til he outgrew it and then it became the stroller then it was the highchair and now it is his beanbag chair in my family room. He is 2.5 now and has never once napped in his crib/bed.

My girls are opposites too. But they both love(d) the swing for naptime. And happy baby = happy mommy.

I could have written this myself...although I think for us it was 6.5 months....one day I laid her in the crib before her naptime because we were having a minor household disaster (flood) and she just fell asleep on her own....then we just started putting her in the crib for every nap...she fought the afternoon nap a lot, but eventually she got the hang of it..
But at 8 weeks, the swing was our lifeline for naps.....

Re: DC's that sleep/slept in swing for naps?
what I do most of the time is wait until he is fast asleep and then just move him to the couch on his stomach (dont want him to get flat head)... try doing that with the crib maybe? we had no problem with him sleeping in the crib at night though...
