DD is almost 3 and I still feel clueless when it comes to...*update*
when to call the pediatrician.
She was fine all morning then all of a sudden starting acting cranky and just passed out sleeping(soooo not like my daughter!!!). She just woke up and has about 100 degree fever and has refused to eat all day (And has only a juice box to drink).
She told me a little earlier that her throat hurts. She was exposed to coxsackie on monday.
Would you bring call the dr. now...or wait until tomorrow to see what happens?
Update:
poor thing had a high fever all night - so I took her to the ped. this morning. I didn't see any visible sores so I wanted to make sure she didn't have tonsilitis...
turns out she has strep. (which I guess is actually better since she can be on antibiotics). thanks again for the advice ladies!!

The doctor cannot really do anything if it is coxsackie but diagnose it. KWIM?
Wait it out. Keep her hydrated. I have a feeling you are in for a LOOOONNNNGGGGG 7-10 days.
ETA: Give her tylenol now, before she gets really uncomfortable. Buy Pedialyte ice pops and get stuff for milkshakes.

Agreed. If she's complaining about her throat, and was just exposed to coxsackie, then that's probably what it is. I'd wait it out - unless she spikes a seriously high fever, I'd keep her at home, stock up on ice pops, pedialyte and lots of movies for both her and you

I would probably give her tylenol and wait until tomorrow also, though that's easy to say when it's not your child who is sick. Just monitor her temp and if it goes over, what is it 102 I think?, call your doctor immediately.
I know how you feel though--sometimes I feel like a nut calling her about this and that. I usually err on the side of caution though, if something is making me really uncomfortable, I call. If she already thinks I'm a nut, what's the difference? Besides, I'm sure lots of parents call over all kinds of things. A sick child is a good reason to call.

I would wait it out. A fever of 100 isn't really all that high. If it were me I would see where's she's at tomorrow. If it is coxsackie or any virus there's nothing they can do anyway.

I agree on waiting it out. When Em had coxsackie her fever went as high as 104! So it could get worse.
Have DH pick up some motrin when he's getting the pedialyte/ice pops.
You can alternate motrin and tylenol (motrin every 6, tylenol every 4) if the fever gets bad.
Make sure you have ice made in the house too --- If it is coxsackie she might be living off of pedialyte, ice, and ice pops for the next few days.
I hope it isn't that though, but if it is, you guys will get through it!
I hope she feels well soon!

Hope she feels better! I know what you mean about the being happy about strep, Viral is the worst!
Hope you have a speedy recovery.
And for Bella, when in doubt, I just take her to the doc...never hurts to get her checked out when I know she isn't feeling well.

I'm sorry she's sick. I hope she feels better soon. It's so hard when they don't feel well.
