Even as a parent, I can totally understand the and from people (sometimes even myself) when you're near a completely out of control kid on the plane/train etc ........Even when the parents are doing everything in their power to calm the kid down, sometimes you just want to hang yourself.
But you do it in your head .........You don't make the person's life even more miserable by loudly and passive agressively letting the entire flight know how annoyed you are ........
And really? It sounds like they weren't even bothering her - so what the hell was her problem ??? you're better than me, I would have played her game and loudly told my kids that some people are just completely rude and sometimes you're just forced to listen to their self important ranting ........
You READ my MIND! I have a pretty well behaved kid who I sometimes even cringe at if she gets a little louder than usual on a train or plane.
When I fly cross country I say a little prayer if I see small children in the gate area...it's human nature BUT I WOULD NEVER say something out loud...ever.
I even kept my big mouth quiet as the kid behind me on my last flight kicked my seat almost the entire time (and then the little bugger would laugh when I turned to check him out)...the mom was too busy watching "The September Issue" to care.
BUT, I totally get it that all kids cannot be angels all the time and completely understand how helpless parents feel when they misbehave for a trapped audience.
SHAME ON HER...I wish there was a way to get her in trouble.

There was no need for any of that. It was rude. However, is it possible that she was someone who gets very nervous on planes and was afraid of not being able to sleep to get through the flight? That's what first came to my mind. Not saying it makes it right or any less rude, just wondering if that's where the rudeness was coming from.

She didn't seem very nervous, just very stuck up and high on herself. She did order a gin and tonic though before the plane took off...maybe it was to calm her nerves after all? Either way, I would love to see what happens if she has kids of her own and has to travel with them

I would have thrown a drink at her....really I would have...then I would have probably been escorted off the plane, but it would have been worth it..

I would have gotten the attention of a flight attendant and demanded to be moved away from the obnoxious mouthed woman sitting across from me. I would have explained that her RUDENESS was ruining the flight for my children.
What an azz

Re: Dear Lady in 7C on JetBlue Flight 918 from Chicago to JFK
It's amazing how one person can ruin a flight. My son screams with delight when the plane takes off, like he is on a roller coaster, "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee." So, on his first flight, some lady in front of us was b!tching about it. What could I do, really? I was glad he was not crying. Then on the flight home people were just laughing hysterically about it. Both times, he was quiet after about 10 minutes and like I said, he could have been so much worse.
