"Deceptively Delicious"?
Anyone watching Oprah? Jessica Seinfeld's new book about how to get your kids to eat their vergetables?
Pretty cool! I ordered the cookbook!

Re: "Deceptively Delicious"?
I just caught a little piece of it. I might have to run out and buy so I can start eating veggies myself

Re: "Deceptively Delicious"?
Want to share any of her tricks for those of us who didn't catch the episode?
I know that making carrot muffins, zucchini muffins, things like that work for us!

She purees vegetables into things like chicken nugget breading, potatoes, etc.
They had an article in yesterday's Newsday.

I know a lot of people on here even finely chop up veggies like carrots, zucchini, celery, etc. and put them in mini meatballs.
Life would be easier if my child would eat meat!! I could hide so much stuff in there!
You can also hide stuff in mac & cheese --- we hide brocolli finely chopped in it---

Re: "Deceptively Delicious"?
I read in people magazine that she made brownies with spinach I have to look at that recipe. It sounds like she has some good recipe ideas. She mentioned adding pureed sweet potato to her older kids macaroni & cheese since it was the same color and they never knew

Re: "Deceptively Delicious"?
I watched it and have to say everything looked great.
I think I may be too lazy to puree all that food though.

Re: "Deceptively Delicious"?
The only thing I didn't like about this is that it doesn't teach them to eat vegetables, that vegetables are good for you, and we eat vegetables at dinner, etc. KWIM?
That being said, I will still be buying this book because I want to check it out and even for DH and I to start eating more healthily.

Exactly what I said about teaching them to eat veggies when I first heard the premise, but what she said was that she also serves a regular veggie or 2 at dinner to keep them in the habit of eating their veggies, and makes them eat it. But they're also getting the hidden veggies too-- kind of like you can't have too much fruit & veggies.
