Declan Patrick is here!!
after me doing squats, eating spicy foods & eggplant, driving over speed humps, etc I went into labor on Friday June 12th! We're trying to sell our house so I was putting my dogs in the car (so they can show the house) and bent over to pick up my dog and all of a sudden I thought I peed my pants. When it didn't stop and I saw that it was clear, I knew I had just broke my water! The funny part was, the couple that was there to look at the house was 5 minutes away so I had to sit outside in wet pants while these people looked at the house. Well anyway...
I went to the hospital about an hour later (wanted to shower and pack the last minute things in my bags, thank god they were packed already) and they checked me, I was 4cm already! They admitted me to a labor room and the contractions were coming strong. My doctor was actually on call so I was in heaven. After they put the IV in and asked me a bunch of questions, the contractions were INSANE so I begged for an epidural and got it right away. It wasn't painful at all except for one part but let me tell you, it worked within like 2 minutes and I was so relaxed and happy. about 2 hours later my dr checked me and I was 6cm.
I had some pressure about an hour later and the doctor came to check me and I was already 9cm. I couldn't believe it. When it came down to pushing, I was really out of it, losing my breath easily & very nauseous. I couldn't push for longer than 5 seconds so it took me awhile to get him out. An episiotomy and hour later, Declan was born! It was the most intense feeling in the world to see him coming out. Since I had anterior placenta, he came out sunnyside up and with me pushing so long, his head was major cone head but slightly to the side. Recovery has been really hard for me (they don't tell you that you cry all of the time over ANYTHING, that you can't have a bowel movement (took me 4 and a half days and after crying and begging god, it finally happened..TMI i know but just warning you guys!), etc. They sent me and Declan home on Sunday afternoon and I was sad. I wanted to stay in the hospital one more day. Well anyway, without further ado, here's my little monkey

aww thank you guys so much!! and *I* have baby fever haha. I miss being pregnant already. He's been an absolute blessing and really only cries when he gets naked. He fusses a little here and there but honestly, we're blessed! He didn't latch on at the hospital (and when he did, it KILLED) so i started pumping at the hospital and that's what i've been doing since then. Breastfeeding is really hard, I know everyone says it, but it really is. He was basically a lazy sucker. he'd suck for 2 seconds then stop. It was really frustrating and really painful so I feel like the pumping is at least something! Thanks again for reading my story. It was quite an experience!!

How were your dogs with him, I am terrified. I have a lab mix and a pit and I am afraid they will be jealous. I spend every waking moment with them.
